Sorry for posting this in this section but I didn't think it would get many looks in the gun safe section. I am having difficulty finding a hard case that will fit my AR with a scope mounted on it. Can anyone recommend a good case online?

511 makes a case that is 12" tall. My AR fits in there with optic and magazine attached.

Does it have to be attached upper/lower? My Pelican:

If you simply need something that will get your rifle from the house to the car to the range and back then check out my review of the Midway case, it's not on sale anymore but it's still a good deal: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=276283

A Pelican case is great for traveling on a plane but between the weight and bulkiness it's overkill for going to the range. JMO.

ETA: When I wrote that I missed that you were specifically asking about hard cases, whoops.

A non-breakdown Pelican option, SOPMOD

You can also look into a storm case. Basically the same as pelican.

I just want a inexpensive hard case. Not the soft midway case and not the expensive pelican case.

This seems like it would do the job.

I have one of those DoskoSport double rifle cases. It has plenty of room for my .308 Noveske with mag and mounted scope with upper attached. It's not as compact as a break-down Pelican case but it protects the rifle well and is inexpensive.

Go with a Pelican or a Storm.

Im just using it to store my rifle and take it to the range. No need to get a $300 bomb resistant case.
