Legal in CA?

Short post. I eschew obfuscation.

Yes they are quite legal. The only limitations on pump shotguns relate to overall length and barrel length.

The one sitting in my gun safe right now would be very surprised to hear if it shouldn't be there.

Any reason why a regular old pump shotgun wouldn't be legal in Ca?

No, but folks frequently get the idea that a bayonet lug (which the M590 has) is a banned characteristic on long guns...

They don't necessarily have a bayonet lug. The ones we had in the Navy didn't. Honestly, I'd rather not have it one there. It's just one more thing to get caught up on stuff.

I have not seen one in the local gun shops, and given CA's whacky politicians, I did'nt know if the bayo lug / heat shield was the problem.

Glad to hear it's not. Sweet.

well, it was benned federally, so I can see why they are confused. as far as I am concerned, it was an oversight on CA's part not banning them, but I'm glad for it.

Are you sure they weren't doing us a favor? ;)

Im not sure if you can just buy the sights. There are models that come with them (ghost ring) and models that dont (bead sights i believe).

Yeah, i really want the ghost ring sights, but i am not sure if there is a way to put them on after market.

If you find a way, let me know about it. The bead doesn't impress me much...

yep, those are ghost rings. If you want to add them to your shotgun, you will most likely need to have the holes drilled and tapped to install them. They need to be lined up correctly. See a good smith in your area, unless you're mechanically inclined. You can usually get the Ghost rings from a mossberg dealer, they have conversion kits http://www.mossberg.com/acatalog/conversions.htm

You can find mossbergs at many locations. Since I don't have a clue as to the area you live in, here is the dealer link http://mossberg.com/Dealers/mossberg_dealers.htm

Now you can look up the nearest store in your area. Good luck.
