My buddy lives in LA... is it true it's illegal to fire an air gun (.177 pellet) on his own walled off property or inside his house?!

What is the law on this? What is the punishment?

Thanks

i dont know what the law is, but i've been known to shoot my pellet gun in the house... dont tell my wife. When i was kid in LA, i would spend all day shooting my air guns in the back yard. As long as no one sees it or hears it, its not happening. Just check for ricochets going over your backstop. ie. the neighbors yard...

in most counties, under certain municipal code,. it is illegal to discharge any air gun within city limits. it depends on where you live, check city ordnance/municipal code in your area to be sure.

Check the municipal codes. It's illegal to use such things as a spring loaded flyswatter gun in Milpitas, according to the code.

Air gun? What air gun....

Make sure you own a compressor and a nail gun. Makes the same noise.

See here (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?p=739161&postcount=14). That info was from 2007 and the LA ordinances may have changed since then.
