Hey guys. Im thinking about selling my sig 226r and wanted to get a feel for how much i could sell it for. It is two tone and standard sights, 5 mags and i have only shot about 500 rounds through it. Its in really good condition and im located in central valley.

Good price for the seller or buyer?

I've seen a regular P226 range anywhere from $752 to $890 and $926 at the highest retail WITH stock sights mind you. (Ouch I know)

These are retail prices before taxes.
Any calgunner will know this /lower/ price as it's one of the big retailers many of us shop from.

Some of our vendors can and do sell them for lower than that.

A few facts to consider.

You'll be saving the prospective buyer sales tax. ($60-80 dollars)
How fast you want to move your gun (Need cash now?)
Magazines are expensive! (Perhaps $30+ retail new EACH)
The actual VISUAL condition of the gun... some guys can get really picky on the finish. It's a good determining factor on how the gun was cared for.

Lowest retail price to be found online for this gun + tax + fees (out of state transfer)

Hypothetically:
Let's just say $850 new w/2 mags+3 mags ($35 ea new)= $955 tax and fees.

Somewhere over $1,100.00 NEW.

A reasonable selling price (if you were the original buyer), I'd say %10-15 less than what you paid for.

%20 if you wanted to give someone a deal.

Mind you, these percentages are rough and depending on the actual condition of the firearm they WILL vary greatly.

btw, POST PICS... probably the best thing you could do for a high dollar piece.

The problem is this is Calguns and people are cheap. There are several Sig 226s in the for sale section and they arent moving, see what they are selling for or not selling for.

not necessarily cheap, but it could be that state and fed taxes, ira contributions, property tax, etc. were all due recently and put a big crimp in people's budgets.

also for a lot of people this is a minor hobby, so they don't devote vast sums of money to it.

heck a lot of people are currently jobless and can only look and buy if the price is extremely low to fit their adjusted spending habits.

lastly some people may have all the p226s they need ;) or just prefer the p228 ;)

Is this possible? I have yet to hear someone indicate this. The only similar comment I've heard is "I have all the P226s I can afford at the moment." :)

based on going rate w/ nonnight sites, I'd say 700-750 is reasonable... if it was me i'd never pay more than that for a non-night site p226 as one can be had new for 830$ if you shop around (w/ night sites).

Agreed. I got my new 226r Navy with 3 mags for $820 (before fees, DROS).
