Nice. My brother want to give me his 226 and P6 but we haven't find the time to do PPT. And to think about we will have to leave the guns at a ffl dealer for 10days... it sucks. As now, I can shoot them whenever I want.

i can't post pics right now, but i know you're going to love it. it is my HD, and for the size of the barrel it is VERY accurate. recoil is light. aesthetically it is one of the best looking pistols out there.

congrats!

Mine has a manufacture date of 3/16/2010 on the box - and its still got an anchor. Without it, will the phosphate coating be the only difference? IMO, it should've come with night sights... but I love it nonetheless. :chris:

thank you, yes these each came in a red box...i believe they were a LE contract buy back.

i got these for about $600 each, out of TX. the first was $605 and the later one was $595

We'll see. I got this P229 through a trade, otherwise I wouldn't of been able to afford a Sig. I've always been more of a Glock and 1911 guy. I'm stoked to get a chance at a Sig though. :)

I was always told red boxes denoted pre-owned and serviced by Sig, but couldn't be sold as brand new...thus the red box. But I could be wrong.

You are correct!

• Factory Certified Pre-Owned SIG SAUER pistols are packaged in a red SIG SAUER pistol case, tagged with our “STOP” tag and wrapped in plastic for protection. Included in the case is an owner’s manual stamped “PRE-OWNED” in red, a cable lock.

that is exactly what the red box means, also the red band around the grips...new sigs have the blue box and the blue bands...what lead you to believe they were sold as new?

both of my CPO Sig 220STs had belonged to a LE department, been bought back, serviced (note the different take down latches) and certified before being sent out to a dealer to be sold...CPO stands for Certified Pre-Owned

that's why the price was so reasonable for them and why i bought two. they could both be mistaken for new, except that their trigger pulls were too smooth
