Whatever it will feed.

Lead is fine if you clean properly. I personally don't because it is a hassle to clean and sometimes I don't want to think about cleaning between range trips.

I use Rainier copper plated. No problems yet...

It is true that they reccomend jacketed rounds but you can shoot non jacketed lead rounds if you are very good about frequently cleaning the inside of your barrel to prevent any lead build up.
