I've been seeing campaign commercials for Wesley for governor. Since he's a Democrat( aka Socialist) , I assume he's as anti-gun as the rest of that bunch. Am I correct?

No, it wasn't Wesley Clark USA (Ret). It was Steve Wesley State Controller.

Steve Westly is too extreme to capture sufficient moderate votes. He also doesn't have the endorsements from Boxer, Feinstein, and all the other top Dems that his rival has. Hopefully Westly will win the primaries because Arnold has the name recognition and has had a nice rebound from the whole special election fiasco. With his handling of the Flood situation, Arnold is gaining ground too.

I'm telling ya..Here is the guy who has a extremely good chance
of taking the Gov's seat back to the Dems. This guy is
cancer for gun enthusiasts..>

The Angelides for Governor campaign has released the campaign's first television ad, titled "Deeply Believe," highlighting Phil Angelides' history of standing up to Governor Schwarzenegger, his commitment to fully funding education and the support he has won from Democratic leaders like Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein.

Fortunately for us, gun control is well off the radar in this election. Considering Arnold banned .50s and signed just about everything else, Anglides isn't going to be much worse. I've noticed that ever since they gerry mandered in 2000 the governor is the fall guy for when things don't work out. What we need is a new legislature NOT a new governor. Despite Anglides endorsements, he still has Westly talking smack about him for 6 months AND Arnold's recent good performance and name recognition.

Name recognition is a very powerful force in politics. Don't underestimate Arnold. Although even if Arnold does get re-elected we're screwed anyways because he'll sign any "Assault Weapons" legislation that comes his way.

What we really need is a good moderate/centrist democrat or republican that can get votes from the swingers in the state. I mean this

someone
moderate or liberal on most social issues
pro business but with limitations and
has a record of good bookeeping, especially this!;)

Kicking out all the illegals will just cause the agriculture and other business who depend on cheap labor problems and headaches, in which they will pass on to us in higher prices. I think the guest worker program is a good alternative to solving part of this illegal immigration problem. Politicians also do need to get some balls and start doing their job regarding this issue. Illegal immigration is bad, yes it is, but think about this..Do you think an American citizen would work hard (I mean jobs like picking up strawberries in a field all day) just to earn minimum wage? Probably not.

wow.. hahaa.. they already did a study on how much prices would go up.. about .12 on fruit.. I would rather pay the .12 cents.. Thats paying 8.50 to 10 an hour. I know a lot of kids out of high school that would work for that. I work hand in hand with them every day in a warehouse and if i had my choice i would send them all back. Im gonna go look for that study and see if i can post it.

guest worker program?? that is a joke. Please don't give me that junk about americans are too lazy to work in some jobs.. if you go out of state or up north black and white people work in the fields, dairy farms and they are payed just fine and the work gets done. You go to MI, OH, WI and you have white and black kids working in Burger joints.. I can not stand Illegals. I don't care where there from.

Don't believe the Media Hype my gun brother.. The rich just like paying **** wages. my .02

Hey man I agree with you on illegal immigration. It is a big hassle on our system, but I think it would be better to legitamize the situation than letting illegals (who we will not know who they are if they stay that way) stay in their current state.

So what if agricultural products go up? The overburdened healthcare system (and criminal justice for that matter) will get a big break and MORE than offset higher produce prices. My wife works for a giant health care provider and you would be horrified by what she tells me about the rediculous strain illegal aliens put on them financially.

If the illegals left just think of all the businesses that would be effected. My business would only be effected on a minor level, but some of the other local business owners I know would be devestated. In addition to the labor they bring, the illegals bring their cash back into our economy.

Also ask yourself this:

1. Who would wash your dishes?
2. Who would wash your car?
3. Who would cook your meals?
4. Who would grow your vegetables and fruit?
5. Who would clean your workplace and do custodial work?

If you ever wonder what would happen you should just watch the movie "A Day Without A Mexican". It's truely one of the most terrifying movies I've ever seen!

Illegals have no right as they gave those up when they crossed to border illegally.. They are not American, they are not immigrants.

They are a disease upon society and this problem needs to be wiped out.

This is a quote fromt the link I posted...

"Overall, the analysis here suggests that undocumented immigrants, not legal immigrants, are the ones likely to generate a negative fiscal impact. This, in turn, points to a need for altering the policies for controlling illegal immigration, not a need for major overhaul of the country's legal admissions policy. Furthermore, since the majority of illegal immigrants are not clandestine entrants across the southern border, but visa overstayers, increased border enforcement will clearly be insufficient to stop illegal immigration."

So its the governments fault for not doing their job...

Dude...I agree with you on illegal immigration...the problem is how to solve the problem, obviously kicking them all out won't work because it would cost way to damn much and all of us would be at a lost (money wise). That is why I feel a measure like the guest worker program is a step forward to solve this problem. Also if the damn did do their job, we wouldn't be in this predicament. Also, the governments leniency on the border has given drug runners an ideal entry to the US...something we should really stop!

I thought we were talking about election commercials.

Short of building a Berlin style wall complete with a lethal zone, they will continue to cross. It doesn't matter if you legislate new Immigration laws or not.

You will never stop the flow of drugs either, too much money there. I read somewhere that the law only captures something like 4% of all drugs being smuggled into the U.S. from Mexico.

Damn, all this is starting to sound like an election commercial.

Hey 10 years ago it was not such a big deal.. you could drive down and the street and maybe see one or two (maybe) illegal aliens standing on the corners.. Now last week i drove down western blvd and could not count how many i saw. i quit at 100 +. and its getting worse. If there is no work they would not come here. I work in a warehouse that has two shifts.. each shift has about 80 workers.. i work on the night shift in the office.. i can talk to two people at night. TWO! as no one else can speak even a little english. needless to say that theres a good chance there not legal. ohhh that and the fact they do not hide it and openly tell you they are. We hire these guys through an agency that suppies over 60 warehouses. So you do the math....thats a lot. and this is one of six agencies we can choose from.
If you go after the places that hire these guys and fine them 10,000 each they would not hire them. no workie.. no come.

Yeah, I see them hanging out in front of Home Depot every morning. At least a dozen of them. One morning Immigration raided the Home Depot in El Cajon. Boy did those illegals run. They were scurrying around like mad.

So, how about those commercials. :o
