Hmm, it's interesting that that was actually an AK47, not a semi clone or AKM clone

So dangerous... wow! Looks like the AK jammed so much that the ATF would have been better off with a Ruger 10/22.

Did you see the smile on the reporters face when he finished shooting?
Everyone likes to shoot! Even reporters.

Wow, that real milled type 56 is an AK collectors wet dream! :notworthy:
Now that's a demonstration AK. They need to put the spike back on though.

I fail to see anything from that piece other than, "these were found in our city!", did it really accomplish anything?

leave it to ATF to perpetuate the 5.7's "cop killer" status....

Got a good laugh out of that Five Seven nonsense.

The only FN 5.7x28mm ammunition available to civilians has been specifically declared by the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to be non-armor-piercing.

THE AK-47 NEVER JAMS.

Myth busted.

Nice MP5 too.

I'd bet that was a GSG 5. So they punched through a vest with a centerfire rifle round? Wonder what grandpa's 30.06' would do to that vest, but thats not evil enough for the press.

I saw that too. It looks like he is trying really hard not to smile too broadly...

Please don't laugh at the video.This was serious journalism.Just because the FA AK 47 jammed after 6 rounds and the Ruger Mark III is my wife's favorite plinking gun should not lower the seriousness of this report. Remember ,the only function of a gun is to kill babies in their cribs. {or put holes in cans}

ha yea.... bulletproof vests were never designed to stop rifle rounds.

Paper targets are just like a real gun fight.... full thoracic standing at 15 yards. Thank goodness the news is spreading reasonable expectations!

Why do we destroy these guns? So we can go out and buy new ones?

Final thought... can I have that surefire forend grip they showed or the AR-15? I could so use that!

What was so illegal about that Mossberg or that GSG5???

Totally stupid. Just another dumb report justifying the ATFs existence to tread on our 2A rights.

If they want to catch the bad guys go find them and put them in jail don't talk about the guns they used because no matter what they use its bad because they are criminals. Duh!

BTW I think the GSG was there because it was an SD and we all know about the stupidity on that one.

Agreed, and lol at "bulletproof vests". I believe they're for all intents and purposes, flak jackets. That they stop pistol rounds seems to be nothing more than an unintended consequence.

I liked the attempt at connecting drug wars in Mexico, too... as if I'm expected to give a rat's *** about what goes on in the third world in the first place.

Oh, and the AK jam was the BEST!

I don't think it was a GSG-5. It had a short barrel.

interesting built in silencer...

my dad has a MkII and it has the same suppressor (in idaho). The whole barrel is removed and it is a permanent suppressor.

Anyone else notice the ATF agent trying to rock the AK mag in the wrong way? Nice demo, buddy.
