View Full Version : Got me a new gun - Kahr P380

I've had a LCP before and I was first a little hesitant to spend twice a much on the Kahr, but after handling and shooting it I think it is worth the extra $ - IMHO. Much better trigger, sights and overall shooting experience.

This is my first Kahr and was told to that I needed a few hundred rounds through it to break it in. I ended up picking up a few boxes of cheap ammo before I realized quality 380 ammo is actually available/instock now days and I picked up 10 boxes of wwb at big 5.

At the range I shot 50 rounds of wwb without any issues. I followed that by 2 boxes of the cheap stuff and had some feeding issues. I switched back to wwb and quality hollowpoints and shot another 150 rounds without any issues.

And now for the pictures, included a coke can as size reference.

I'd like to know that too.

How much more is it gonna be. If you go to Kahr's website and look at the PM9 you can see that the Ca version is $138 more. So if the P380 is $650 it looks like the Ca version may be somewhere around $750 or more.

I just transfered one for a client. It is so small, it's unbelievable. I usually never handle a client's guns, but this one I took out of the plastic and checked out when it showed up.

Just don't muck it up with an extended mag/finger rest/whatever. Leave it alone. If you don't want a tiny gun, don't buy one!

DerGlock what hollowpoints are you using in her. I am using Buffalo Bore JHP +P. BB feeds great, you can actually rack one in with your hand. When I try and rack PMC FMJ they get stuck at a 45 degree angle so I have to use the slide stop to slam one in. I dont know if you have checked Buffalo Bore out but it is worth doing some research on, it will give your P380 a kick in the butt which is great when dealing with 380 power bringing it up to around a 38 special +P from a wheel gun.

Great purchase! I've got a PM40 and absolutely love it. Agreed with Rudolf, don't bother with the 6 round mags, get some 5 round flush ones and call it a day. It's so small it doesn't even compare to the micro Glocks to me.

when will the CA legal one come out?

I thought it was suppose to be out in June but then I heard later because they are gonna have to test the new version. I am not sure if that was just a rumor. Maybe someone else will respond with some reliable info on that for you.
