Just playing around with different stocks and such today. I had no idea there was so much I could do with her. Besides shooting her. Not sure which one I like better, So I thought I'd ask you guys. Maybe show me yours so I can get more ideas!

I like the first option the best. I like the aks with the wood on them.

Z Me Fly. I like the wood also. But my stock needs a refinish and I want to cut off the front pistol grip or get another forestock. I like the dark brown wood, But I just love Russian Red. But Russian Red on a Romi? Not sure yet. The center version just looks better with the 6th 922R part. Which is the plastic pistol grip. But with that forestock, I have 7 and can use the original bakelite grip. :TFH: I have a US piston, But it really is a b*tch to install. I'm thinking of a US made wooden grip to match the stock, but then I still can't use my prebans. :(
The last one is suprisingly comfortable and I can use my prebans and no BB. But it will be tough to site in with a 30.
Decisions, Decisions.... I may just have to build another...Been playing with her most of the day. Going to the range for her first shoot tomorrow.
Center configuration to site her in on sand bags. :)

Shady Jeff...Most forestocks don't have holes for the cleaning rod. I had to drill the holes and add a 1/32nd" spacer under the barrel because it was kind of loose. Easy fix.

Well since you asked:

From the Top:
Romy-G Kit on an NDS-3. Original furniture stripped, refinished and redyed with a combo of Rit/alcohol.

Romy-G Kit on an NDS-3. Tapco buttstock/Intrafuse handguard/forward pistol grip system.

AMD-65 on an NDS-65. My first AK build and still a work in progress.

Vector Arms AK on a Elk River Tool and Die Receiver. I have only three words for this AK: F****** awesome AK. Has one of the smoothest trigger assemblies of any rifle I've owned.

Wasr-10 on a Century. Not the greatest rifle but it will get you there. I do like the Teakwood very much tho'.

People say AK's look ugly, I think they are works of art! ;)

Nicely done. What are the build details? I'd go with original Romanian furniture in that brown varnish finish. Here's an experiment with "Sedona Red" that I just didn't like. I'm going back.

Geese, Where should I start...gregorylucas. I love the handguard on the sidefolder. Ultra cool. Awesome collection! Thanks for showing me what I am in store for. You have some beautiful AK's there. I have a Radlock I haven't installed. But what BB is on the first 3? Looks custom.

69mach1. I have a friend with one of those. Nice car. That rifle looks great! I love that color. But beauty is in the eye.....

This is my my first build and she is a 78 Romi G that looks like it is unfired. No interior wear at all. All matching numbers. Built on an Elk River reciever with a Tapco G2 FCG. Just sandblasted and parkerized. First testfire and site in tomorrow. Going to alumicoat II and refinish the furniture soon. I now have a feeling this is not going to be my last build... Can you tell I made the 10 rnd mag from a 30 myself?

You can never just build one. I am glad you get to test fire her tomorrow, good luck! I just think maybe you should refinish the wood , maybe cut off the donkey dong if you want. I think it look good right now but probably better with refinished wood.

The good thing about refinishing is you can always redo it if you don't like it.

I actually kinda like the sedona red but maybe if it was a bit lighter? or showed the grain and markings of the wood better?

I say pick up a MMG for it or a solar tac grip wrap and cut off the forward grip and then redo the wood in any color you prefer.

Naw. The first 3 are just the regular Raddlock, I originally had these on the bottom 2 rifles-then the Solar Tactical Lock came out and I reattached the original AK mag lock.

If I had to do it over again I would use the SolarTactical lock, it maintains the "reverseability" aspect more quickly than the Raddlock since it is just a shroud.

You don't like the Radlock? The top 2 pics I posted have the solar tac. that I bought from Duraglock at the build party. The 3rd pic is the Solar tac. and socalled, evil features removed. I have a radlock, But chose not to install it. I like it because it retains the look of the original. But it is not DOJ approved and if you lost the tool, you're SOL.
I have heard that the Solar Tac. can break. Leaving you with an AW. Can anyone ellaborate?
