I've always wanted a MAC since I was a kid. I thought they were the coolest thing then :o I finally got one. Thanks to Colby of CGM Firearms for the great deal and excellent service!

The specific model I got is the MasterPiece Arms MPA930SST-A. It's the mini version with a side-cocker and a scope mount. Price: $499 before taxes/fees.

Let's start with the mags. These are Tapco brand mags and were a joint project of MPA and Tapco. Sten mags work too but are wobbly. These are solid and firm.

Blocked mags with rivets. I painted the rivets black because they stuck out like sore thumbs in silver.

Here's the case:

To those wondering how these are sold as single-shot pistols, the answer is this:

That piece of wood has a bolt hole for this grip screw:

One complaint about the MPA is the sharp trigger guard. This grates your middle finger. I applied some rubber Tractiongrips on the lower trigger guard and the front strap.

I installed a Pentax reflex sight on top.

Colby has them all: Sten rebuild kits and blocked, Tapco rebuild kits and blocked. Give him a call.

These things are just cool. I really want one in .45, but I keep telling myself to shoot one first before just buying one. Congrat's on the new toy!!!!

Man, 10/32'd..weaksauce :). Ask for rebuild kits, everyone's got a Sten mag or 9 lying about in their garage. These are still sexy as all hell though, we can barely keep them on the shelves up in Woodland.

Just setting the record straight. MPA's have been coming into CA before PRK decided to bring them in from other dealers.

While I admit that PRK does handle a lot of transfers, I wouldn't necessarily call them "exclusive". There are other sources that can get you a CA compliant MPA to your local FFL in about a week.

MPA itself does not list PRK as a distributor.

BTW, I like your idea of the tractiongrips.

You're right :o Now that I look back, they are not exclusive to PRK but they are the official CA distributor per their statement below.

Its been a long time in coming.... but we were just made the official CA distributor for MPA's entire line of products.... one of only six total distributors in the entire country.

If you are a dealer, please contact us ASAP (sales@prkarms.org) as we want to put MPA guns on your shelves....

No middle man shipping, no conversion hassle, no 'transfer uppers'.... we send you product that is ready to sell and 100% CA compliant.

Our aim is to make MPA Mac's as available in California as they are in the rest of Free america.

How's that for some awesome news ;)

It's another gorgeous day in SoCal and a great day to break in my mini-MAC.

Here's a size comparison next to a S&W revolver.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/zandrolouie/Junk/0425000919.jpg

I started to load the blocked Tapco mags and found out that the 10th round barely made it there. It reminded me of the blocked Magpul Pmag problems due to insufficient spacing. And sure enough, the mini-MAC wouldn't even strip the 1st round into the chamber. I loaded them to 9 rounds per mag and problem solved (much like the Pmags). PRK should lower that rivet a few more millimeters down. 9/32 magazines!!! Oh well.

I brought a box of Remington UMC Mega-Pack and discovered some rounds were like these (below). I know a few CalGunners have had the same problems with the UMCs a while back.

OK, hiccups aside, I finally proceed to fire my 1st shot and BOOM! The freakin' Pentax reflex sight falls apart. Another hiccup! The glass fell on the floor on the 1st shot. I grab my hex tool which was suppose to adjust the red dot POI, but now I am taking it off the gun instead. Bye Pentax, you're going back to the store!

Now, I am left with plain irons on the MPA mini. Guess what? It ain't too bad. I'm definitely glad I discovered this. Other MAC-clone owners (Cobray, etc) complain about the "trigger slap" on their guns, the MPA does NOT have this problem at all. In fact, the trigger is nice.

This gun actually made me look good at the range because I'm not really a good shot to begin with (newbie). I started shooting at 25 yards and I had decent personal results. I went to 15 yards and that's were the fun began. I created one raggedy hole at this distance. No jams. No FTE. No FTF. No FTL. Sweet! I love this gun and am now very glad I got it. I actually bought this without even seeing one nor trying one in person. Overall an excellent buy IMHO :)

Very cool. Whenever I do end up buying a 9mm it's either going to be an MPA Mac11 or an AB-10. Whichever one I can find first. I love the designs of both guns equally.
