Sheriff candidates for santa clara will be at 1694 saratoga ave, the retro dome around westgate shopping center 9am.

Bunch of various candidates, hosted by NBC.

Could be near school zone, unknown.

Questions can be submitted by audience.
Still at work, don't get off till 2am.

.. but there are cities like Saratoga and Cupertino that contract with the SCCSO for police service; and there are areas effectively within populated Santa Clara County where SCCSO operates regularly. For example, Bascom between San Carlos and Hamilton - I don't know why (some parts of this may be unincorporated) but there's a fair amount of SCCSO activity there on a regular, ongoing basis.

Besides, candidate forums are probably the last opportunity most people will have to interact with the next sheriff in a relatively unstructured way. We don't know which of them will turn out to be the sheriff, but it's a chance to demonstrate that pro-gun people aren't maniacs, and politically active.

As government budgets shrink due to reduced tax revenue, smaller cities and towns are considering outsourcing policing to the sheriff's offices.
