Yes, I took some liberties, but here is my version of a M1917 sniper rifle.
Some of you were looking for a nice accurate US military rifle at a reasonable
price, well here is an example of one. I built this rifle for under $500 :43:

Fine looking rifle! I always think of Sgt. York when I see a 1917. If I'm not mistaken, he took care of all those Germans with only the peep sights, no scope, in short order. Your rifle looks right natural in its present configuration. I like the upside down rocks glass propping up the muzzle end!

Haven't had a chance to take it out in its current configuration. I have been playing with different scopes and rings and it has been grouping nice. I just got the cheekpiece and lens shade on, unfortunately, I messed up my shoulder the other night, so it will be a few weeks before I can try her out.

Well I'll be glad to volunteer to try her out at USI for you next week :-D. I'll even be generous enough to bring my Mini-14 for you to shoot (that .223 is zilch for recoil) while I enjoy the .30-06 :-D

She looks like a blast. The 1917 is my most coveted gun from my dads collection.
