Sorry for the Noob question. I know I am reading this right but want to clarify.

If I take this class for UT and FL CCW permits, I can visit my friends in TX and legally CC? I live in CA, and no I do not know why I am still here.

Not a problem. Questions are always welcome.

You are correct. Utah and Florida will issue permits to non-residents of those two states and you may carry legally in the states that have reciprocity with or honor their permits. The current list of states that will honor the non-resident permits are in the opening post. I have carried legally driving from Camp Lejeune, NC all the way back through Nevada with my Utah and FL permits.

Your reciprocity list doesn't include Nevada. How are you able to drive through Nevada with a UT and FL CCW?

FYI, Nevada is a free carry state so you can open carry there (Strongly advise against OC on Vegas strip!) without a permit or conceal in your vehicle as Nevada defines concealed as "On Your Person" . You can have a loaded gun anywhere in your vehicle without a ccw as long as it is not concealed on your person.

It gets you the class, notary, passport photos for both permits and fingerprinting for Utah. Florida requires fingerprinting by a law enforcement agency. It also does not include the state fee's of $65.25 for your 5 year Utah permit and the $117.00 for the 7 year Florida permit.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

As Big Jake stated above, NV is an open carry state. In order to get a Nevada non-resident permit you MUST take the course within the confines of the state of Nevada.

What a great course!
Doc had everyone engaged and participating the entire time and some really interesting conversation arose. He had all sorts of "good to know" bits, that in and of itself makes the course *very* worth the investment.

Safety and good clear and concise teaching with lots of personal experience and knowledge meant there wasn't a slow point or lag throughout.

I give Jim's class a very high recommendation!

Thanks Jim....and thank you for your service!

This is an excellent course. Lots of good exchange and not just dry reading of the required material. The best CCW course I have taken.

I'm in O.C and awaiting the day we get a sheriff that decides to follow the constitution. In the mean time are there already established requirements for required training for CCW ? Are they statewide or "county-centric" ?
Do you think it would be wise to PREpare or just wait till the INEVITABLE change occurs ?
Thanks............krly
