OK Please don't thrash me. I tried searching for the answer, but nothing came up that I could find.
What is the best way to permantley put on a flash hider? Is a quick spot weld ok?

Most reasons for permamently installing a flash hider are gone.
The FED AWB has expired, and this was the main one.
The main reason now to permamently attach is to make a sub 16" barrel come out to 16".
As far as method, I think most used a blind pin and silver solder to a specified temp to meet Federal requirements under the ban.

Yeah, I have an 11.5 inch barrel and a 5.5 flash hider.
I do not have the access to the solder but I do a welder (MIG). My Yugo SKS 59/66 came with the "new" muzzel brake spotted on, but that does not mean it was right.
The best way is solder/ blind pin, but spot weld will work?
Its a good used barrel, so I am not too concerned about looks; when I get the new barrel I'll sent it out for the solder/blind pin.
Thanks for the replies guys!

On my yugo, whoever did the CA OK version did a great job. It was actually a screwed on and tacked muzzel break. When I go to AZ I can simply cut the weld, unscrew and put back on the original GL to put it back to its original state.:)
I understand you can get the original GL from online actions.;)
