We are looking for some volunteers to help man the hospitality area in the pits, please PM Seesm (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/private.php?do=newpm&u=23115) - we want to make this a comfortable and welcoming event for people new to CGN and for long-time members alike. We need plenty of photographers too! GeoVario and GUNPAL will be providing laptops to access CGN and we may have some iPads there as well. There will be FREE FOOD for anyone in CGN apparel of any kind or anyone who brings a print screen of their gunpal homepage.

I'm not sure if I can make the AMA weekend, but I'll be riding with Mason the 19th of this month for a track day in preparation of the pro races. I'll know when the date gets closer for the pro weekend. Any of you track day riders want to come ride with us? Sign up for the track day here on April 19th,

if you're in the bay area & ride, you can go all around the track via motorcycle/sooter/whatever
it's a fun track to view the event in person as well
some aren't; fortunately infineon raceway aka sears point is certainly worth seeing @ least once in one's lifetime
the television coverage should be great as well so will record the event

sears is the best track on the west coast
nice facilities too
can't wait til race weekend
right on!!! calguns

Let me know who wants to go and I will get you on the list of guys who are coming with me and we can maybe pit together... Team CalGuns / GunPal...

Yes "Skkeeter" and (maybe Dodge) I will be riding it will be fun.. I need to get back up to speed fast. I could NOT be more pumped... There is ALOT of work to do prior to this weekend... Btw anyone know anyone who is a good painter to paint 2 sets of bodywork Blue to match the stock Yamah stuff? I have 1 new ste and one like new used set they need to match and be done fairly fast... PM Ben or I on that if you can... Thanks

btw yes as Ben said this may make TV... My name and the side of the bike made it the last 2 years... Even though I am new at this I was in the right place at the right time for TV... (Sometimes getting lapped pays) :P
But truly we can do some many great things talking about our rights and teaching people at the races about what is important to help the United States stay UNITED!!

BWT we should try to call it a "rider nutrition" area and hang out for all of us CalGun buddies... They charge a crazy amount from what I hear for a "hospitality" area and yoru all my and Ben's friends... It is going to be FUN!!

Just show up with bike and ride?

Around the track I think Dodge means... To race this event you need a AMA Pro license. But on the 19th of this month if you want to ride ON the track. I can get you on a list to ride a track day there... $260 and it is big fun!! We can all pit together... (for trackday) I am SOOO pumped to get this going!!

Cool yeah there is a little you can do as far as take the fuse out fo your lights and tape over... (carefully so they are not all sticky after the day) A little safty wire is good but not needed for most track days. And you would want to catch any and all fluids so as to not make the track slippery for you and others. Pm with any specific questions for sure so I can help you out.

Hey everyone I wanted you all to know I have never been soo pumped to promote anything.

CalGuns for most of us is what keeps us up at night looking, wanting (err needing) etc etc..

GunPal is as the logo says "Next Generation Payment Processing" With how ebay and pp try to tell you what you can or can not do with there service, GunPal is the logical choice.

At my business we are in the middle of setting up a account for the business to accept it from our customers. I think as forward thinking people we all need to do that at our business or places we buy from.

This I feel this truly is going be huge!!! I hope everyone who enjoys any motorsports or guns will be there...

Road Racing, Flat track, Supermoto, Motocross, and more will be happening that weekend. Do not miss out on a good time.

And thank you so much for all the kind emails and voicemails guys and gals!!!

I have been off the bike for awhile so I am going to get a few days in prior to the event. (I hope more than 1) :)

The people we are racing against are THE BEST in the country and some are WORLD caliber riders. I am fairly new to road racing but have ridden this event 2 years in a row...

If everything goes right we will finish well and have some fun but what I want most is to promote CalGuns.net and GunPal.com and let people see what we are all about!!

Please ask any questions you guys or gals may have or PM me!!

Thanks

-cM

p.s. I had not thought about a umbrella girl but linked shells would be cool and get some attention for sure. :) I will see if my clothing guy can make a suit for a lady!! :) Yummy.

Make sure you dont get DQ'd for riding the track in the cut off time before the race. AMA had a rule that you couldnt ride the track some 30 days before a ama race. So be careful

DMG has alot of rules implemented but not enough man power to enforce yet. But unless we get some better tires for the test day on the 19th the 2009 spec tires we are running are the worst tire EVER made... I was a full 2 seconds slower on this tire and most where about 3 off there best times. (I guess I like teh tire as it helped me get throught that pack a bit last year)
So with the tire we have now we will be setting no lap records... I hope to line up a new 2010 spec set of tires to try out by the 19th.

They (DMG) get alot of heat for all they have done thus far but if we stick with them they can do some cool stuff. They are run by the same family who is Nascar (The Frances) So they can not be all bad. :)

How much do the tires cost?

Last.... Ahhh if I remember right they were like $340-360 a set I forget... I looked for a receipt but could not find one... What sucks is the tires are Dunlops which ROCK (normally) but the spec tires sucked tail..

I ran Pirelli in the local series the year before and they are GOOD tires and so are the Dunlop regular race tires. Just the specs are NOT. haha :P

I wonder if anyone has the hook ups with rooms and or a Charter Bus. My parents have an RV, but it gets 8 miles to the Gallon...ON THE FREEWAY!!! So a 900 mile road trip might be out of the picture a little bit. Unless we piled a bunch of calgunners into it, and split the cost. I should probably ask if they would be ok with me taking it I guess first.

This will also be the debut of the North-American TTXGP, an all-electric motorcycle race. My company Zero Motorcycles will be racing and have a booth at the event. Why should you care? Because the Zero X makes for a bad-*** stealth hunting vehicle. Check the video...

Yeah, the Zero might be the everyman's electric two-wheel transport. But if you want some hot Electric Metal between your legs you have to look to Mission Motors Mission One (http://ridemission.com) for a "bad-***" motorcycle that doesn't give anything up as far as the experience goes.

We went out to the track today... Along with us were a few Cgers' so it was very cool. We did a little tune and test (much needed)
It was very cool to get back on the bike after being off so long.
I am still a bit rusty but fun none the less.

let me know in the morning if you have any questions.. I'll be there at 630.. I went by after work but you guys had bailed..

What tires did you have on their before... I forgot when I took them off....

We had the 209 GPa's early last week and they were... Well not as good as the 211 GPa we tested monday afternoon...

In the one race today (600 Superbike) I think you watched that one...? I started 44th and got up to 18th and they red flagged it... Then on the restart we went from 45th to 16th... (not where we wanted but not terrible) And as far as times we dropped 3 seconda off and went fast as we ever had before there, but not fast enough)

In the 2nd race (Formula 1) we started I think 35th and got up to 6th and with about 1 more turn or two could have got 5th for sure as I had gone faster that 5th for the previous 3 laps of 7.

In the 3rd race (600 Production) we started 45th and got through pretty good... All the way up to 8th place at the flag... So the time wise we dropped a total of 5 seconds this weekend...

Not bad for being off ANY bike for 10 months... But I want to go about at least 1 second faster for the national...

Thanks for the kind words and help James... Btw 30rdmag super nice to meet you as well.

Nice hanging out with everyone... And I think you'll get faster and faster each time you get on the bike....
Plus in the ama. you will get some more track time and get you chase some pros around which will also help bring those times down even more. Sears is not an easy track.... so your times dropping each time going out is well a very good indication of how well you are doing... Dont be so hard on yourself..... 3/4 of the guys you raced cant even figure out half what you were able to do in 3 days.

HEY have fun and GO GET 'EM at the National!

Very cool. Good to see this program comin' together for you. :)

Race paint: He is probably too far away for you guys up there, but Chad Jensen down in Escondido (North San Diego county) does the Graves Yamahas, used to do al the Attack stuff, and I dunno who all else. Calls it MC Pro Paint iirc. here is the link http://www.mcprodesign.com/

He's painted bikes for Toye, Beck, Lowry, Stern, and a bunch of other National and WSMC racers bikes. These were mine in early '05:

http://www.kennykopecky.com/images/P1010012sm.gif

Can't make it up there from SD, but we'll be cheering for you! Have FUN!!

For those who are thinking about going...DO IT! Sears is an awesome track to spectate at, many great sections of track can be observed from the neat terraced areas surronding the race course, and they have a huge grandstand by the start/finish as well.

I am he. :) '05 was the last year I raced a full season and we had a ton of fun. '06 and '07 were like half the year, and '08 and '09 I only went up to Willow one weekend with the 999 each year. Probably will only go once or twice this year too - still have the ol' Duc and she's ready to roll.

Kinda have been spending our few disposable $$ on flying airplanes, and am currently kind of coming back into shooting sports thus I am here now too. Yay! :)

I am old now, so the flying and shooting is a lot easier then trying to keep up with kids on the racetrack. ;)

I love mx! I was an intermediate once upon a time in CMC and raced Saddleback a ton for a couple years (tells you how old I am eh? ;) ) and then tried roadracing. Loved it too. :D

Still have a fun '05 RM250 and a old KTM520SX. Had a SMR-510 and ran it at Streets of Willow and did well there but ended up sellin' it. Ah well. Too many bikes and not enough time haha.

Got mention on TV when he held up the leaders lapping him - nice head-on shot, had to pause to see detail, no logos visible or mention of sponsers.

Highlights @ 11 AM on SPEED; today's race replayed at 9 PM on SPEED

Nice yeah the TV does not tell the whole story at all... The blue flag (your being lapped) was out 6 laps prior to us being lapped... So we did not know the leaders were ON us thill they were ON us and slow down too much your race is over as well... But yeah I passed that "girl" at LEAST 7-8 times... I am 190 lbs on a worn out never re-built 116 HP 2007 year bike with 4,000 miles on it... (well 3,500 but who's counting) and she has a 2010 "FACTORY" yamaha (her husband is Yamaha factory rider Josh Hayes) with 125+ and she weighs 98 lbs... (but again who's counting) And she is a pretty good rider but 190 to 98 and the HP it is tough to beat that and mentally also as no guy wants to beat by a girl unless your paying for it.. :) Oh yeah and the fact that I hopped off the couch after 10 months and rode a trackday on the 19th of last month and the AFM race a few wks back and hit the national... I think its ok... But I think this was sorta meant to be a thread crap so thanks I guess??? :P

Alex I am trying to be there next week... If so I hope to see you in your new rig!!

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH all of the CGer's that ended up coming out.
Some I knew and some are new friends...

Ben, Dave, James, Forrest, Angelica, Chris, AJ and everyone else... I am COOKED from all the stress :) and we did some cooking...

Truly I am and was PROUD to represent CGN and Gpal and I know we made impressions this weekend and hope to get out again... I see good things coming up!!

It was extremily fun... I have a tweaked ankle from getting hit in the re-start of race two... I plan to ride maybe next weekend at the AFM race and even do more representing and bring home 3 top 5's at least...

Hey Ben. From all the complaints I see about folks not getting their money from you people, possibly paying the bills should come first. Then go racing? Now I'm beginning to distrust those who are connected with your 'business" -- and I do mean all of those 'connected'.

People are begging you to return their messages -- but the begging is falling on deaf-ears. Show us you are not what it now appears to be ---- 'questionable and fake' at best. Many dollars unaccounted for, huh? Electronic transfer don't take WEEKS Ben!

Peoples money did NOT go into racing... Btw if you have a issue with Ben please PM and stay out of my post.

You have 5 posts I am suspecting your just a troll ...so go crawl back under where you came from.

BTW I got my transfer from my sales of CGN and it took Gpal 6 days to transfer and I know Ben... Sometimes it I suspect will take less but I knew what I was getting into prior to that... Yeah I think on Gpal it says 2-6 days...? I think that is normal.

Yeah also I have had PP take even LONGER so what do you have to say about that...?

Thanks again for you taking the time to crap this thread.

LOL!!!

I remember Chuck Graves!
Way back when, late 80's or early 90's I did a short stint as the service manager at Suzuki of Van Nuys. Chuck was the lead mechanic at the shop at the time.
He was a good mechanic and having him at the shop just prior to him breaking out as a racer was a hell of a PR coup for Suzuki of Van Nuys.

Yeah we were 13th till the last turn... The 13th place guy actually cut underneath at the bus stop (turn 11) and we drag raced to the finish, and I had a drive but he swerved over on me at the end. Ce la vie'

Yes Chuck has done alot of cool stuff in the industry... He and I know each other (not very well) but pretty well. We both owned teams in the 2005 AMA Supermoto Series... His team won I think and we got 4th O/a in the series... Pretty good as we only contested 5 of the 8 round where they did them all.

Yeah she rides well... And YES her equipment is from what I have heard pretty much a factory built bike. So she is pushing 130 HP for sure and her being so light weight does not hurt. I should have just put my head down early saturday and not even dealt with her but that is being off the bike for soo long.
I hope we can pull it together to do the rest of the AFM series and AT LEAST Laguna Seca in July. I hope to work something out and do the FULL AMA series in 2011.

Laguna Seca Moto GP weekend featuring us in AMA is COMING up in the end of July!!
Laguna Seca is comin up, WOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!! My friends and our ladies are piling into a 15 passenger van and coming over for the weekend! We've ridden over, we've taken multiple 'burbs but so far I think the way to go (without camping, we have access to a few houses in Carmel) is to pile in a van/party bus. The red bull grand prix Laguna Seca is a bit of a ritual for us, we close the weekend with going home and watching the races on the gigantic projection screen.

So, what's going on at the Calguns paddock?

You didn't get beat by a girl, did you?

Haha no... but I gotta tell you... she is on a FACTORY Yamaha R6 and is like 100 lbs to my stock bike and 185... I came from behind her both races (sounds dirty) lol cuz I qualify so well and I rode the track within 30 days of the event so they put me to the back row... Got up into the top 15 and went back and fourth on sat to finish 17th and Sunday I rode worse and struggled to a 19th... Not what I was looking for but it's hard to just hope on and go after being off for almost 10 months again... :( Miss you guys... how is the east big boy?

Should have called me.

Pm me your # again man...

Laguna went sideways... I started back in 30th (cuz I qualify so well) Got up to 18th or 19th and they red- flagged it on lap 2 and then I got up to around 20th and caught my front brake lever on another racer and crashed... Bad day... They cut the 23 lap race to 10 by the time all this happen... Long lead up to a short race... Finished 28th I think after picking it back up...

At least you weren't the guy crashing in the corkscrew!

Sorry I'm late to the party here. Didn't know there are so many trackday and moto racers on this forum. I just got into shooting as a result of what my buddies like to do once the riding is over. I'm from SoCal so most likely haven't seen/met any of you at trackdays or races.

What are the plans for this coming year? We are in silly season right now....better get the ball rolling ; ) I'd love to see CalGuns at the west coast rounds if you're still planning on racing.

Why not start a new thread for your next race instead of adding to this old thread that has Gpal on it ?

PM a Mod, if anyone can help it would be them.
Keeping this thread alive is like pouring salt on an open wound.

Does not seem like that big of a deal... This thread is not about Gpal persay but with whatever you want to say about them.. They were great to me and always did what they said they would.. Not sure of truly what happen behind the scenes but Ben was always up front and straight with me and until he does otherwise I have to take it as I saw it.. I used Gpal and sometimes the funds were late but I always got them.. If a mod wants to give me access to post in this area I will do that.. Its again not that big of a deal.

I understand what you are saying but....
A lot of your fellow calgunners got burned out of lots of money.
Some of the money Ben gave you was surely from their pockets, don't you feel the least bit bad about that ?
Just because he's done no wrong by you does not mean he deserves a pass for what he's done to others.
IMO, you were just a pawn for him to further his business.
He was sponsoring you while at the same exact time people were unable to get their money.
You seem proud to have been associated with him and it just boggles the mind.

That's all I'm going to say about this as this isn't a gpal discussion thread.

Agree. You keeping this thread alive instead of starting one w/o any association to GPAL seems IMO to be in poor taste for all the reasons boxbro quoted. Why not start this in Off Topic as your racing has nothing to do with the rest of the gun forum.
