I'm creating a list of possible barrels for my first build, but I'm having trouble deciding (and finding) exactly what I want.

I'm interested in a 20" heavy or bull profile barrel with a rifle length gas system and a 1:8 or 1:7 twist rate.

I'm trying to find a stripped barrel without front sight / gas block.

I do not want chrome lined for this build.

Also, I would prefer that it not cost more than $350 if possible.

AR15 barrels.com had some good stuff, but they don't really have many twist options.

Checkout cmmg (http://www.cmmginc.com) Not sure if they have non-chrome tho, but they have a couple different profile 20" 1:7 barrels

I think you wrong about this. I think Randall will make you any barrel you want. HE may be pricy, by qualiuty is superb. Send him email.

I'm sure the quality is great, but the high prices are a bit much for a college student such as myself. Also, it says you can't choose twist rate with Standard grade barrels. Now I have more options to consider (and I have a while to consider it).

He has both of the twist rates you're looking for. I agree that you should send him an e-mail. I meet Randall at the Shootshow, he is definitely a good guy with a nice attitud and will work with you whatever option you want. :)

AR barrels meant for service rifle competition are generally 20", heavy profile, 1:7, not chrome lined, and often stainless. So, look for a "service rifle" barrel and you'll find what you want. White Oak Armament has them exactly like that for $198 without front sight base. WOA has a good reputation and that sounds like a really good deal.
