Just wondering if there are any hardcore duck hunters, like me, on this forum? Live for it 24/7, 365 can't stop thinking about it. If you guys out there hunt throw up some pictures and I'll share mine. I don't want to start off by making you guys feel bad ;)

Glad there are a few of us out there. I'll put up some pics from this year, I just love seeing dead ducks so put up any pics you guys got.

All hunts were public land. I know this last one isn't ducks but I got to do something to get me through the off season.

WTH...Are those hen Spoonies I see there!
Hope somebody put money in the Pizza jar.

Yes, hen spoonies. Puts meat in the sausage bag and when it's slow they are fun to shoot.

Oh the Spoonie carnage...I love it.

Id throw pics up this year of all the duck carnage of the 09-10 season, but the season sucked a** for me. Cograts to you. Cleaver way to keep the tails of the pintail.

Oh the days when I could skip class on a whim and go and kill stuff. My last year sucked huge as I missed the traditional Oregon opener and the duck club was terrible. We have a big thread in here a few pages down. But yeah it's my favorite partly b/c it's what I'm best at.
When specks come to die... too bad the limit was only 4 each. This was 08
This photo looks like crap but it was about 1/4 of a semi grind that was working our spread. In the end the entire flock came down but some of the first few that landed started getting up so we had to cut into em early.
*Please note the "oopsie who shot that thing" in the lower right hand corner. ;)

There is another guy on here who's buddy is a guide. His photos make me wanna cry. lol.
Oh yeah see this photo. 2x banded Greenhead w/ (1) $100 band and banded Sprig.
I missed the sprig 3x and shot the hen that was with the greenhead. I got nothing and my Dad cleaned up.

Die hard duck hunter here.....Shot a lot of ducks this year especially off the boat. I'm from Upstate NY so I really appreciate the variety and abundance of ducks out here in the pacific fly way.

Ok dude. You had to go and put those pics up so now you can blame yourself for what I am about to say.
When are you taking me duck hunting?!? :43: This year was my first waterfowl season, and the only days I had a chance to get out sucked! I only got 3 birds all season! Now I know why....you killed em all and they never got the chance to migrate down to me!!! WTF?

We really didn't have that outstanding of a season. Early to mid December were our best weeks with some other good hunts in there. But, when everything froze up we absolutely hammered and then it seemed like the birds moved out. We just scouted like nobody's business towards the end of the season so next year should be gross.

So are those stacks and stacks of ducks from this season? That looks pretty good to me..
Most of the birds we scored this year were teal and widgeon.. We got limits of Pintails several times.. but not a whole lot of mallards.. though I did manage a double banded green head on the second to last day of the season..
Between my brother, myself, and a friend, we scored 101 birds total (ducks and geese) for approx 14 hunting days.. Figure about a 20 were geese..

Between 7 of us this year we killed just over 1,000 birds. One of our buddies hunted a lot of private with his family so that helped our numbers.

Hopefully I'll be able to get out this year here in CA for the Duck Season. I went home to Idaho and got a good week worth of the season...limited out 6 days in a row. Was the best time I've had really!
I'm waiting to get my male Wood Duck back from the taxidermist.

Male wood duck and Drake Mallard...definitely two good looking birds!

I'm still a failure at it, but I'm trying to be a duck hunter. I only managed two outings last season. The first was a refuge with only three shot opportunities. Missed two and sailed one that we never found. The second was a private club, and the only thing we saw was geese at what looked like miles high. Not a shot fired that day.
I have better hopes for this year. I met some duck hunters in my neighborhood that took pity on a newbie, and offered to let me tag along from time to time next season. I've spent every weekend since the season ended at a gun club I joined shooting skeet and trap so I hopefully won't embarrass myself any more than usual next season.
