What are the costs for Rankin Field? I live in Porterville and 5 Dogs is too far to drive and too expensive.

The last time I went it was 10 dollars to shot plus the price of targets if you don't have any

Just went there this weekend. Nice lil place. Basic stuff but had alot of fun. People that work there seem nice and friendly. Will go again.

The Porterville Police has opened its new range up to the public. I have not been there yet, I prefer to go to the National Forest. The Local AM radio station gave the new range a lot of air time when it opened, the spokesman stated that they will be holding shooting classes and competitions out there. I did not hear a cost amount.

I hadn't heard this til now. Where is the range located? I figure I can always stop by and ask for the rest of the info.
Thanks,
Jim

The PPD range is not open to the public yet. It may open to the public at some point on a limited basis for classes and competitions and maybe something like one weekend a month.

PPD range is only open to the public for special events - I know they've got a ladies class coming up, not sure when specifically. There's a flier posted for it at Sierra Sportsman in Porterville (Olive, just east of Newcomb).

I usually go to Rankin Field. They've made a lot of improvements there over the last couple years, with the clubhouse/classroom, and the covered bays with fans. Bug improvement - and has been said, the folks over there are really friendly and helpful.

I think the range fees for non-members are $15 - they've got a couple good membership deals, then it's free to shoot. I'd definitely say to check them out.

Sorry, KTIP sure made it sound like it was open to the public.
