View Full Version : What is chamber based on? Lower or the Upper or Both?

iam ready to build my lowers and i got a few

2x Lauer
1x Rock River Arms
1x Mega Gator.

iam confused as to if the chamber is based on the upper or the lower or both.

cause my lowers have no markings.

i plan to run 5.56 chamber..

Lower caliber markings are mainly cosmetic and by no means limiting.

The AR lower can accommodate any AR semi-auto upper, provided the round fits in the magazine and magwell. Legalites aside, a AR lower can even accept a bolt-action .50 BMG upper!

So, the chamber is in the upper, mainly the barrel.
