So, I get home from work today to find that Mark at Arizona Response Systems has sent me a FALentine's day present in the form of a CA-version FAL, it only took 11 months to build. He did an awesome job building it, but 11 months!?!?

This will be FAL #3, but for some reason I feel I need 1 more.

One million billion semolians (and closed toe shoes for CG! ;) )

Thanks for the compliment, but I'll let CG reveal the price if he wants to.

Let me know how you like her, she's gotta be better than those bloody shoes, they are giving me blisters!:D I think I'll go back to my flip-flops.:p
BTW, if you didn't want to divulge the price I am not going to, either.

I was slightly overFaled. I have an Imbel that just came in from Rich at CGW, a brand spanking new DSA Para Congo supposedly finally on the way and still have 2 of the last Imbel TDW receivers with excellent DSE kits that Rich is itching to build.

Well Popeye (I finally understand your avatar) what scope did you used to have on that thing. I'm looking for something good and short (so as to miss the brass 'kisses');)

You basically have three choices: a T168, which is what I used (at the time it was only $30):
http://www.clearviewinvest.com/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamTxt=&txtsearchParamCat=4&txtsearchParamType=ALL&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtFromSearch=fromSearch&iLevel=1
a Trilux:

or IOR Valdada:

all other options, like ACOG, are a lot more money.

Personally, I liked to shoot it with irons.

Hmmm....

I really like the Trilux just for the (semi) authenticity factor....

But this little beauty is turning me on:

I'll have to see how much $$ I can squirrel away...(or maybe win at roulette this weekend!! "Come on Baby, Daddy needs a new tactical scope!":o

Can you still use stripper clips with those scopes?

Yup, that's why you keep 'em on the short side.

Rich@cgw called me today. My StG-58 is on the way to my FFL! (I had to buy a receiver from him due to DSA not having any in stock, so the gun has not been DROS'd yet).

It is a StG kit, on a DSA type I with carry handle, Tapco top cover, ARS Stolle flash hider, Penguin pistol grip. Plain old parkerized.

I also have a DSA type II that I am figuring out what to do with. Wanting a Para, but I fear the OAL will be too short for CA.

Pictures to follow.

Check DSA for prices http://www.dsarms.com/

I got a better deal because I found CG some shoes.

If you build the Para with a 21" barrel you will be fine (or 18" with soldered brake that is long enough).
