Just got a job with Golden Stat Bridge after being unemployed for 9 months. Seems I'm stuck in Lucia,Ca for 2 -3 years building a bridge now with the company I've just hired out with. Wondering if theres any place to go hunting or fishing close by????

I got Suzuki Samurai and an F-350 4x4. I don't have to worry about much

Oh man, is this the place with that one gas station that charges like $7 for a gallon of gasoline?

You are in a pickle - can't go west (water), can't go east (mountains), can't go north (too far to cities), can't go south (too far to cities). You might as well be on the Moon. You have my sympathies.

Check out the redwoods, I guess. That has to be good for a least one weekend.

Last time I was in Lucia was in late January 2008. We were unfortunate in that we had to get gas there.

You could go to Hearst Castle one weekend too, but it would be lame going by yourself. Let me guess, it is very hard to find a dame thereabouts?

Surprisingly! Lucia and Big Sur have a shortage of men!

Or conversely, Lucia has a shortage of people!

Do you get high speed at least?

one of the best hunting facilities in the State...
they take about 200 bucks a year off of the place...consistently and have the best buck/doe ratios in the state... great doe hunts every year... if you have a DOD card... great additional big game hunts available to DOD only...my kid took a doe 1 hr 45 min into his hunt this year and he had seen dozens of shootable deer before that...

great quail hunting too...
and if you are local and can hunt alot... the turkey and the pigs are there...finding them is hard..

the country is straight up and down...rumor is the pigs all have both legs shorter on one side of the body to walk the hills... you have the left leg shorters and the right leg shorters... they don't like each other much but don't have any problems outrunning each other...;)

get over to ligget and it is way flatter... with a relative value associated with the word flat...

good luck
