I finally got around to converting my Saiga 7.62 this week and I think the best thing I did was change out the sights. I used a Mojo Micro Click ghost ring in the back and a KNS crosshair up front. I haven't shot it yet but the sight picture is 10X better with the front crosshair circle matching just inside the ghost ring. It ended up costing a little less than an HK sight conversion. Now I just need to figure out some tritium-type paint for the crosshairs!

Nice that does look good! Will keep that in mind when I do my conversion.

I like your "featureless" modification there! Is that bolted/glued/riveted into place, or can it be taken off easily for when your are in one of the funner states?

The solar tactical grip wrap is held in place by those screws and is easily removed when not needed

Who did your muzzle-work (threading) and what brake is that?

You can find ak tritium front sights out there. Then for your peep sight maybe a tritium glass tube like they use in watches now days. Solar Tactical makes the best AK Bullet Button. With the BB Tool Socks on the Mags you can change them out very easily.

Very nice conversion upgraded sites. Let us know how they work out /hold up to the saiga.

I threaded the barrel myself, rented the tool from Dinzagarms. The worst of it is cutting the sleeve straight and getting the brake aligned. I used at Tapco brake from Midway, it's an AMD 65 design. It was cheap, made in the U.S. and I like the look. We'll see how it does with the recoil.

I stole some orange nail polish from the girlfriend and tried to paint the crosshairs but they are too fine and it turned out all clumped up, even after thinning it with acetone. I'll try something else, maybe a hobby paint pen.
