I had a pet crow when i was about 18. Thing was as smart as a dog and even learned words and to come when called. Won't shoot them now.

3 sounds good to me, we could fit in 1 truck that way. Maybe even squeeze in a few coyote stands if the crows aren't out??
I normally go out by Frazier Mt. If that is too far for you guys then we can go up to the High Desert (west of 395) or Somewhere closer to the IE if you guys want.
I've been wanting to check out the North part of CNF but it is closed for about another month they say. Saw a Murder of about 50-70 crows flying over on the Silverado side about a month ago, too bad we cant get in there all the gates are locked.

I might be just talkin crazy, but thinking about going out late friday night and doing some night calling, then hunting crows saturday..... It would be an all nighter but I can hang.
Just trying to get in as much hunting as possible cuz the old lady is giving me hell about easter sunday.

Not too hijack too much further but I always hated bluejays since they killed a nestful of my doves. But I found a orphan baby blue jay one day and raised it and now i think they are cool as ****.

Anyone know the reason why raven are protected but not crows? I've never understood that and come up with my own conclusion being that since Edgar Alan Poe wrote that poem, it's some kind of national treasure so we couldn't hunt them. Not the real reason I'm sure but I've never heard any other.

Some of the areas are in the condor zone, so lead-free is needed. I have a couple options on places to go though. Depends on who is going for sure.

Wish I could go but I have other stuff going on this weekend, I love shooting those flying rats. I know a spot in CNF that they fly over every morning in large numbers, they must roost near there.
Maybe next season I'll have to give that a try.

start by looking here.
Farm land would be your best bet. Find somebody that will let you hunt their orchard or vineyard

I like to season mine with a good steak season and cook it until it's browned on the outside, after that you cut it int small cubes and spread them on the ground around the yard. It works great for gopher poison.

unlike coyote, there is no need to make jerky out of crow. its actually good, clean meat.
