View Full Version : Newcomer From Fort Irwin

I'm soon to be assigned with the US Army as an engineer to Fort Irwin, CA and from there I'm considering transferring into the California Army National Guard.
I have a valid Florida concealed weapons permit and know I have sixty days from my arrival to apply for a similar permit in California.
I just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to talking on the forum soon.

Welcome aboard. Fellow Engineer also, except I'm on the Marine side.
I've done plenty of training out on Irwin and I don't envy you...that was the worse base I've ever been too; too damn hot or too damn cold. Plenty of BLM land out in that area to play with your toys.

Welcome, I was stationed out in Ft. Irwin for almost 2 years. It can suck out there, but as the previous poster said, there is quite a bit of BLM land out there. Las Vegas is only about a 2 hour drive away from there.

Forgive the new guy questions but BLM land is Bureau of Land Management right? It's plenty of land I can use my weapon at for training I presume or not?
10-4 You can shoot all you want at BLM land.
Welcome aboard and thank all of you for your service.
Good luck on getting a CCW in Kalifornia.
