They make(or used to) one of the Gatling gun kits like the Cabelas ad for the M1 Carbine. The company was trying to get one to work for the Mini 14, but recoil was too strong.

So i take it that i can build a copy of a antique gun but cant build a modern electric gun.
Where is the antique gun located? im in Lodi and if its near i could take a put on the Hog and take a look at it.
Thanks

good luck legally buying a magazine that holds more than 10 and what fun is that you cant even walk it on to the target in 10 shots

then there is the vague multiburst trigger activator prohibition

Yes the 10/22 and m1 carbine "gattling" conversions are illegal in ca

That would be illegal in CA because of the multi-burst trigger activator prohibition. CA is one of three states that that is illegal in. However, CA defines that as a devise that attaches to a semi-auto firearm so a real Gatling gun is legal.

Airwright, are you thinking of a full-size gun or a 22LR? I just started working on a 22LR gun built from the RG&G plans. I liked them better than the D&E plans. But I do like the Broadwell magazine from D&E. Eventually I may make one for the DG&G when I am done. Unfortunately at the rate I am going, it will be a two year project. I am learning to machine as I go and don't have a lot of time that I can spend on it.

If the blue were a little lighter, it would be the flag of Somalia. Major Isaac Johnson would not be too happy about Bonnie Blue being in such a wonderful "country".

Yea, that's why I fly it on my vehicles. Also, at least in Ca., most people have no idea what the Stars and Bars is either.

Or if they do, they think you're a racist. *sigh* Heritage, not hate.

So do you feel a connection to the Republic of West Florida?

Sorry to threadjack.

No, most people mistakenly think that the Confederate battle flag is called the "Stars and Bars". I have driven several different vehicles (which had Stars and Bars and Bonnie Blue flags on them) into Hunter's Point (SF), the area around Kearney Park in Fresno, Palmdale and most of South Central LA without anyone ever making any kind of negative comment or jesture. I have had a few positive comments by educated residents of those areas though.

Here's the deal - yes they are legal, even building one is very expensive, there are very few feeding devices available for original types and are very expensive (in the four figure range), and the feeding devices over ten rounds (all the 45/70 types) will be problematic to get here in California even if you can afford them.

I should add that the D&E plans are scaled for 22 short while the RG&G plans are scaled for 22LR.

Also, the is a new form for Gatling guns that started, it is http://www.gatlinggunforum.com/forum/index.php

Before the Gatling there was a black powder French Gun that had many barrels that would fire one after the other. Such a thing should be legal to recreate. Imagine 30 black powder barrels going off one after the other.

I think they called it a volley gun. A bunch of barrels all in a row with a priming trough that was lit in the center. They lit it in the center because they learnt that if lit on one end it tended to pinwheel. Before the Gatling there was a black powder French Gun that had many barrels that would fire one after the other.
