To any network folks,
I have been searching on the internet, verizon help, etc... to no avail and still can't get it to work.
First does anyone know here in SoCal is Verizon DSL DCHP or PPPOE?
I have tried both in the router set up and can't get either to work.
Any good website out there or if someone has a DIR-655 what are your settings?

What kind of modem do you have from Verizon? Sometimes for DSL Service they will give you a gateway and not a modem, if this is the case you will need to change the gateway into access point mode so that you can run a router off of it.
Have you tried unplugging the router and trying again a few times. I have the router set to DCHP on mine. I have RR cable. Everything else is set as default except for the WPA2 encryption.
I sometimes have to delete the wireless network SSID on my laptop and reset. I pick it back up use my password and I'm up and running again.
Dlink I think has a 24/7 support.
In fact I need to redo my firmware since the last time I did a delete program and install.
My firmware is the old 1.02. Check yours?

Usually, PPPoE is handled by the DSL modem and not the router you attach to the modem.
STEP ONE: attach a PC directly to the DSL modem and get it working with Verizon's tech support.
STEP TWO: clone the PC's MAC address to the DIR-655.
That's usually what I do when working on Verizon DSL modems.
