Well after sitting for over 20 yrs due to a bad hunting trip Ive decided to rebuild my model 94. I need to get the receiver rebarreled and refinished maybe parkerize it. Any gunsmiths deal with Winchester 94"s around here?

Do you have a sentimental connection that makes it ok for you perhaps spend 2-3 the cost of replacing it with another gun just to rebuild the same gun?

Well it was my first gun. The reciever is still good but I need a barrel, mag tube and stock.. Ive seen good barrels for $60 mag tube for $26 and stocks for $50. Winchester doesnt make 94's anymore. Now used one are going for over $300+ dros.
Can you handle working on 94's Randall?

I have done a limited amount of lever gun work to include barrel removal, shortening, dovetails etc...
I don't do bluing though.
I could break the gun down for you, then you send the reciever out for reblue and collect up the replacement stock, forend, mag tube and barrel.
I can put it all back together when it's ready.

If it is a top eject in 30-30, I have a carbine barrel, mag tube, and butt stock that need a good home. Aslo a few other misc. parts.

Be aware that post 1964 '94 receivers were made of cast or sintered steel, and they don't hot-blue worth a darn. They were electroplated with iron at the factory and then hot-blued over the iron plating. I have rust blued one with good results. Parkerizing might work on them.

I dont think I will rebluing the rifle, its was a trip as it traveled down a cliff. Thats why im thinking of parkerizing it. Kendog let me know what you have. The 94 is a post 64 ranger 30-30 without the crossbolt safety

Is it a top eject, or angle eject? If it is angle eject, my barrel wont work.

I beleive its AE. its drilled for scope mounts and has a recess in the right side 1/4 lower than the top.

You can try Lee's Gunsmithing in the OC. http://www.cowboyshooters.com/ or, if you don't mind shipping out of state, Steve's Gunz in Texas. http://www.stevesgunz.com/
