YES!! The next Garand match will also be a M1 Carbine match!!!! Not sure how they will run it.. but I believe that they will run the 4 stages of the Carbines @ 100yds first. THEN run the 4 stages of the Garand match after that.. I'll have more details this coming Saturday after I come home from the HP match there.....
SEPTEMBER 10th!!!!! is the date.. $15 for the Garand match and $20 if you want to shoot both the Carbine AND Garand match. More details coming this coming Saturday afternoon!!!!

hmmm, Cool deal~
In regards to the carbine match; do the rules allow a non-USGI? All I've got is an IAI.........

OK.. Here's the scoop.... The M1 Carbines will be shooting first @100yds for the 4 stages. Then the Garands will be shot @200yds. Cost will be $15 for the Garand match and $20 if you shoot both the Garand AND the Carbine match. Garands will have 2 classes, As issued and Match.. if you shoot a 'as issued' Garand and NON-Military M2 Ball you will be in the Match Class. LC GI ammo will be available for sale $20 for 60rnds. We don't have any GI M1 Carbine ammo for sale.. so ...for the M1 Carbines ANY GI or commercial 110gr FMJ equivilant will be acceptable. Sign up start at 8am with first shot at 9am.
Both the Garand AND the M1 Carbine matches will be shooting the NRA course B which is:
Offhand 2 sighters and 20 shots for record on 22 minutes.
Rapid Sitting 2 sighters in 2 minutes then 10 shots for record in 60 seconds
Rapid Prone 2 sighters in 2 minutes then 10 shots for record in 70 seconds.
Slow Prone 2 sighters and 10 shots for record in 12 minutes.
There is a 3 minute prep time inbetween each stage.

OK.. if you shoot a 'as issued' Garand and NON-Military M2 Ball you will be in the Match Class.
So the Greek HXP would put you in the "match" class, correct?
I only say that because on the CMP website they list the HXP as commercial ammo, on the commercial ammo listing vs LC surplus on the surplus ammo listing.

Nope the Greek HXP is GI equivilant.. The CMP only lists the Greek HXP in the commercial section because they had to pay for the ammo.....

Are there usually plenty of open spots?
Yep, after HPS gets done with a target there's usually LOTS of open spots still left on there to shoot at....especially the center section:p LOL!!!! Just kidding HPS!!!!!!!!!!!
But as for open spots, I've seen more open at Chabot, the times at Richmond have been both packed and plenty-o-room!

I think our original poster did again. It was a quick day and I didn't catch who took the second relay. I can tell ya' this though~ I amazed myself, or should I say the carbine I used amazed me- not a single problem and I was within EIGHT points of ol NRA~HPS on the the last leg
We'll see what he says the final score(s) are for the rest of the folks; it was on the "5v" targets which were a new thing for me, but I managed to shoot a 193 (Outta what? 250?)
Had an awsome time, a lotta peeeps at least for the Garand section, only 7 for the carbine leg though in cluding me and NRA-HPS.
