I recently wanted to purchase a winchester 1894 from a dealer back east. (gunbroker) He says he won't ship to CA. I emailed him as to why. He stated he didnt know what he had to do. Fair enough so i directed him here.

Question is, What does an out of state vendor have to do to sell a firearm to someone in CA? I am sure when he logs in he will be looking this up. thanks

They need to participate in the CFLC program. http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/cflcoverview.php

If the rifle is at least 50 years old AND you have a 03 FFL (Curio & Relic) see http://www.calgunlaws.com/index.php/topic-summaries/506-a-brief-explanation-of-antique-curio-and-relic-firearms.html
