I just got word from Ken Wilkinson of the Florida Division of Licensing that Washington and Florida recently signed a reciprocity agreement.

Washington Reciprocity Page (http://www.atg.wa.gov/ConcealedWeapons/Reciprocity.aspx)

Florida Reciprocity Page (http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/news/concealed_carry.html)

When the announcement was originally made, Washington had stated that non-resident Florida licenses could not be recognized because Florida did not recognize Washington non-resident licenses. After multiple conversations with both Ken Wilkinson and in-state stakeholders on the issue, the Washington AG's office overturned the staffers decision and determined correctly that Washington's law does not allow for the kind of distinction that the staffer made, even though Florida can.

If you possess a Florida license with a non-Florida address, you can carry concealed in Washington State.

If you possess a non-resident Washington CPL, you CANNOT carry in Florida. This is due to their reciprocity statute, and this is unlikely to change due to the popularity in Florida licenses and wanting to maintain the trust fund to upgrade equipment.

Utah already has a reciprocity agreement with Washington State, but those of you that have Florida but not Utah, rejoice! :)

Florida now > Utah

Utah gives you Minnesota, Florida does not.
Florida gives you Kansas and Florida.
Florida residents get South Carolina, but SC doesn't recognize the non-resident FL permit.

Get them both! I have them and it settles the issue to hold them both!
