I recently purchased a comp m4s and found myself wanting some magnification when shooting at the 100 yard range, I am sure it will get worse if I go to a local 300 yard range. Is it worth it to get a flip to the side magnifier? I would probably purchase the aimpoint 3x but PA or Vortex would work too...,.just more into the do it or don't do it idea...I'm pretty on the fence about it. The idea of having a flip to the side magnifer sounds "cool" but is it effective? Would u do it?

Realistically red dots and magnifiers are for the troops and the rich. If its a paper killing gun get a 1-4x scope. I love my millet and it was only $200. I can bang steel all day with my eotech at 200 yds, also. So its all about what are you going to be using the gun for.

Wait for the Primary Arms compact 4x Scope (http://www.primaryarms.com/product.sc?productId=206&categoryId=2) to be in stock... that's what I'm doing.

If you're shooting at a range at fixed targets from a fixed position, a magnified optic is almost always better.

My suggestion: change what you're shooting at and how. Go run and gun a bit - try some tac rifle matches.

(PS - a magnified optic is better there, too, but it will at least get you off the ground/bench)

That looks pretty good for 110.00. I would like to handle one and see the glass for myself.

Do it. Magnified red dots not only are overkill for the average shooter, but they dress up a rifle quite nicely.
