Like I said, I am new to the whole AR thing. New to Calguns also. I always wanted one but settled for a mini 5 yaers ago or so. Fun but just not enough. Finaly let my local gun shop guy talk me in to building one. I have it done.. got it done pretty cheap also..
Spikes Lower
16" m4 upper
Flash supressor
Pistol grip
Bullet Button
Collapsible Stock
Magpul 10/20 mag
My questions are: Am I in completely legal configuration ?
Is it perfectly OK to drop mags with a "tool" at the range?
Or should I pop it open and top load. I get mixed
anwers from people.
Is there any recomended paperwork to carry with me
other than the flow chart?
I would appreciate any and all advice.

With the bullet button, you are legal. As far as I know you can drop the mag at the range

You can drop with a tool. The ability to remove the mag with a tool makes it perfectly legal.

Edit: Just noticed this was your first post. Welcome! Which is your local range?

What does the flowchart tell you? You should be able to not only say yest to that question on your own, but also be able to articulate it.

Yes

Those that say no don't understand the law

SAC PD training bulletin is nice, but none of it's necessary. I'd venture to guess the # of times someone's used that with a police officer during a stop is 0

I would appreciate any and all advice.
Relax and enjoy! Once you hit the range you'll realize you're FAR from alone.

I live in fresno county, I'm a member at an indoor range called The Range but it's for handguns only or 22's. I will go the the outside range in Auberry for the AR. Thanks for the welcom...
