Has another law passed that I didn't hear about or is Sarco using our screwed up state laws as an excuse to charge more for shipping?

"Every California gun sale needs to comply with California reporting.
In accordance with California state law, pistols can no longer be shipped to California by means of the U.S. Postal Service. All pistols will need to go UPS Overnight or Overnight Saver."

FFL's can ship USPS but I don't remember hearing about not being able to in California. WTF?

That's not California law. That's Postal regs, and as you say, FFLs can do that but we unlicensed folks cannot.

And FedEx and DHL are also OK. See also related info here (http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/index.php/Shipping_Firearms_Within_California).

It is postal regs for non FFL dealers. Only dealer to dealer can use the USPS to ship handguns. Just more BS and less work on their part. You are paying the price so they do not care.
