That is one beautiful gun and if I am reading the serial number correctly in the first picture it is very low as in three digit for a U.S. made gun. Good luck on the sale.

Should be 50 according to the barrels and the model should be a XIX since it is U.S. made

If this is Nickel plated and not chrome and doesn't come with the original 44 mag setup then this gun isn't even CA legal. It's not on the DOJ list of approved guns. Nice gun, just don't know how someone else would get it registered in CA. Good luck

easy, you once lived in a state that didn't suck and moved to one that did. don't get me wrong, i love the women, but the gun laws?? suck more than a dyson.

As long as he's doing a FTF PPT transfer then the list does not apply.

True, but you can't register it right?

True, but you can't register it right?

Why wouldn't you be allowed to register a handgun if the law requires that you do so?

http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

Effective January 1, 2001, no handgun may be manufactured within California, imported into California for sale, lent, given, kept for sale, or offered/exposed for sale unless that handgun model has passed firing, safety, and drop tests and is certified for sale in California by the Department of Justice. Private party transfers, curio/relic handguns, certain single-action revolvers, and pawn/consignment returns are exempt from this requirement.

http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/pubfaqs.php

Q: I am moving into California and I own several handguns. What are the new-resident registration requirements?

A: You are considered to be a personal handgun importer as defined by California law. You may bring all of your otherwise California-legal firearms with you, but you must report all of your handguns to the DOJ within 60 days as required utilizing the New Resident Handgun Ownership Report

Thanks for the info, I just didn't think you would be able to register a 50 cal because its not on the doj list. So just because something isn't on the approved list, as long as its a FTF PPT you can buy pretty much anything from someone? Sorry man just a little confused. I'm new to the forums and I'm trying to purchase new handgun

warbird

the way I understand it is that as long as the gun is registered already in the state you can buy it. If it is on the "approved list" it does not have to be a FTF. If it is not or is no longer on the approved list then you have to do a FTF transfer at a FFL. I just went through it myself because the gun was not on the list but is registered in the state and we are both residents.
