In recent weeks I had been looking to purchase some firearms and I've managed to obtain 3 in the last week or so.
1. A M1 Garand from 1945, with the original bayonet and original receipt from the gun store it was bought at in 1979. The rifle is in great shape.
2. I just purchased a Marlin 795 from Turners yesterday for $109 after a sale price and soon to obtain rebate. I'm going to shoot it of course, but I wanted something light that I could teach my grandkids with.
3. A high end 1911. I already have a SA Milspec that I bought a few years ago, but wanted a really nice one.
There were some nice looking LB, NH and even a Fusion. After reading some of the info from other members and obtaining some advice from some who have semi/custom 1911s, I decided to pass on them.
I ended up buying a SA Professional from another member here and it was a smooth deal.
The M1 is in the safe (barely), the Pro comes out of gun jail on the 8th and the Marlin on the 12.
Later in the year, I think I will get one of those new fangled .22 rifles that resemble an AR. I held the Sig and S&W at Turners yesterday. I think the Sig is ugly. I like the looks of the S&W, the fact that it comes with sights which the Sig should for the price and the feel of the Smith is great.
I know all of those rifles have had problems and some have been fixed. I hope by time I buy one, all of the problems have been rectified. They look like a fun gun to shoot (and the ammo is a lot cheaper).

Anyone can find a pic of the Marlin and since I'm computer dumb, I'll have to wait for my kid to help me to show any pics of the M1.
