Man... I miss Try-City

cause it's the world's largest (duh-duh) sporting goods store.

Nice SP89. There's nothing wrong with having the handguard installed - it's not a pistol grip.

Drool...

Wish we also lived in a state where we could SBR this into MP5-K.

I'd have to empty my gun collection to buy this!

This is better than GOLD!!!! In the 90, they sold for $1200, so just wait another 20years and they will sell for $10,000.

Correct, but until the Radlock was installed it was a CA AW. So the question should be whether it has been properly de-registered as an AW, or was it out of state in it's box until the Radlock became available and just recently moved back into this state in it's current non-AW configuration.

Why would the mags need to be pinned? They were before the ban on hi-cap mags right? That is one sweet gun first time I have seen one on CG, good luck with the sale.

Why would the mags need to be pinned? They were before the ban on hi-cap mags right?

Because in it's original configuration the SP-89 is a California Assault Weapon, and would have to have been registered as such in 2000. To not fall under assault weapon regs, you'd need to alter the mag to 10 rounds and use a bullet button or other mag lock. The real question is where has this firearm been for the past 10 years? Outside the state and then altered to comply and then brought back into the state legally? Or was it registered as an AW, then converted and de-reg'd?

OP - sorry about all this, I can clean it up if needed. Just curious.

This gun was bought about 20 years ago and sat in my safe for a long time. When the new assault weapon law was coming I took the gun out of state. It sat out of state until just recently. It is not and was not registered as an assault weapon.I hope that clears that up.:)

That is a very, very, very sexy weapon. Oh for the Golden State of yore! You know, back when our tax monies went towards roads, schools, private practice physicians, and infrastructure... and not to prisons, regulatory agencies, HMOs, or welfare programs! Oh, and when our state population was half what it is now!
