Hey guys-
It is time to register my .50 cal rifle.
My residence is in kernville and my father lives in glendale. We both use the gun and I spend plenty of time down in glendale for school.
Since we are father-son, can he be in possession of the gun with my permission if it is only registered to me??
Can we fill out 2 registration cards for the gun when are DL's show two different addresses? Or is it safe to use my address on his application?
I want it to be legit obviously and want us to both use the gun legally. What do you guys think is my best bet?

.50 cal rifle... drool! I am jealous.
OK, so I apologize for my worthless contribution to your thread. I guess I will give some input until someone more knowledgeable pops up.
Last night I went to CWS with two friends. I picked up two Ameetec lowers and they picked up one. They are twin brothers and have two residences. One with their mother in Inglewood and then they have a loft on their own in Downtown L.A. One brother DROS'd and they will fill out registration cards if and when the time comes. Michelle at CWS said this was doable and mentioned it can be done with anyone in the same household.
I'll check the DOJ site for a FAQ section with this question and get back to you if I find something.

I think you're out of luck, unless you move back in soon.
With AW's you must be present for others to shoot it.
Looking at my .50 BMG form in front of me
"#5. For joint registrations of .50 BMG owned by family members residing in the same household (emphashis mine), each registrant must submit a completed application and $25 fee."

Yes, each joint registrant must be family members residing in the same household,(at the time of registration). The question is: What happens if/when one joint registrant moves out?

What if we put the same address on the form even though drivers license record shows different?
I wonder if that would be illegal?

Can you and your dad move in together while you register it? Then move back. I'm not sure if it is legal but worth a try. If you are in school, then use your dads address.

The registration form asked for your driver's license number. So, I would think the DOJ would do a quick check on the DL to make sure the address is legit. Who DROS'd the rifle? You or your dad?
