View Full Version : P22..Help!

I have read so many reviews on this gun and I can't make up my mind if I should get one or not. Is the Walther P22 a reliable .22? Does the 5 inch barrel make that much of a difference over the 3.4 inch barrel? Is it really that "picky" on the ammo used? Any help would be great. Thanks all!

P22 fans and haters are out there in droves. More like it than not. Seems to be a better choice than the problematic Mosquito. More people like the Ruger Mark III than both others combined. Many in the know say get the shorter barrel. Word is the longer barrel doesn't offer any benefit. In fact, the compensator often comes loose. Break in the gun with CCI's.
After all the reviews I've read, I'll be buying one myself at some point. I think the pros outweigh the cons.

I like mine. I've only shot CCI Mini-Mags through mine and haven't had any problems so far.

I like my P22. I have the short barrel, long barrel looks funny to me. It's picky about ammo, but mine likes Remington green/yellow box, so ammo is plentiful.

I bought one for the wife to shoot. We both like it. It's pretty accurate and a lot of fun.

I love my P22. Mine eats a regular diet of Federal Bulk with an occasional snack of Aguila Sniper SubSonic.

I have one it only likes to eat high velocity 22, the bulk packs works in it, I tried some blazer 22 and it would not cycle the slide. Fun gun thou.

Never had a problem with mine with a long barrel, only shoot Rem high velocity. Havn't tried any other ammo. A fun little shooter..
