Took my sweetheart out to the range today after work at my LGS/R. As I was getting my gear from the trunk a couple gang banger types were leaving. Perfect timing :)

Ran a few hundred rounds through my carry guns (Glock 36 & Sig P230) to stay proficient and then "she" started calling my name.

So out comes the 1911 with the 8 round mag and supplemental 10 round WC mag. Let the fun begin. There is just something magical about the feel of 30lpi checkering on the inside of your fingers and your palm with rich, deeply checkered rosewood holding tightly to the inner sides of your hand. Anyway, on to the report.

I'm a dyed in the wool revolver guy and always have been. I like the bottom feeders ok but they've never held that special place in my heart that the revolvers do. This gun is my first 1911. All I can say is wow. This is the single finest firearm I've ever fired, period.

:D

Nice. I need to get a PC 1911 at some point. They are fine guns. Mind if I ask how much it cost you OTD?

A whole boatload, for me anyway. It was worth it though. There is one or two used ones being sold on the S&W forum for darn good prices. They are on the CA DOJ list so you can have them shipped in from out of state. Might look there if you're thinking about grabbing one.

S&W PC1911 is my go to gun for now and i love it. Amazing the difference between a std S&W 1911 and a PC1911. Yes the cost is up there, but what fun and accurate guns they are to shoot. If ya can make it down to USI some weekend, let me know and we can swap guns for a bit. Don't see alot of PC1911s out there, but the ones you do see, the owners are very loyal to.

I just got mine too...I have the stainless...I love it! It is much more accurate than my les baer and seems to be right on par with my dads nighthawk. The finish is amazing and feels like its on teflon rollers. The trigger is super light and crisp with no creep. I was able to obtain similar results. 1" groups at 10-15yrds is cake with this gun.

Question for the OP... Does your trigger rattle a bit when you shake the gun?

Ink, what's USI? Here are more pics of her ---> http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=272178

Jerry, doesn't really rattle when I shake the weapon but if you grab the trigger with two fingers you can jiggle it and get a bit of movement from it.

United Sportsmen in Concord. There are quite a few of us 1911 fans there on the weekends on the public line when we're not shooting a match. Let me know when you can come out and if no match that day, i'll meet ya there. You can shoot alot of different 1911s and see the diff firsthand. Make no mistake though, you did good with that PC1911. Those babys are great. If i could find another one used i'd jump on it in a heartbeat if the price was right.
