What would you guys go with a Saber or Noveske? I was think of getting a 16 inch stainless Noveske with a switchlock? Is that a good idea? never heard of it till now they made some good points. I also was think of getting a 16 inch Saber defense with a gas piston. My question is what would you guys go with for your first ar 15. why? also do you guys know of any discount codes for Saber or Noveske! thanks

My first AR was built with a 16" sabre defense heavy fluted S.S. 1:8 twist barrel.
With my hand loads (It likes the heavier 69gr Nosler, and 77gr Serria matchkings) it's a tack driver.
Cannot go wrong with either one IMHO.

I have them both. Noveske has more "Bling factor", but that's all IMHO. My Sabre is one of my favorite AR's and I have LMT, LWRC, Noveske, ect.. The only thing about Sabre lowers that I don't like is the stamped engraving on them. I wish I could get my hands on one of the old ThunderCat lowers.

I've got this Sabre upper on mine, and have built 3 other Sabre's with them as well. Pricey, but very nice.

The Noveske Switchblock is meant for use on suppressed firearms. Likewise, the gas piston setup on the Sabre really doesn't offer any advantage over a traditional DI gas system unless using on a suppressed or short barrel rifle. What are your intended uses for the rifle?

Its mostly for plinking. Also something nice to look at! I was wondering who makes. and the name of the sling that goes over your shoulder and looks like it has bungie cords. lets you move better? i seen it on the 2010 gun show. a guy was wearing it.

You start a new thread every day, why not stick with one where this can be an ongoing conversation?

You're a bit all over the map. Talk about what you want the rifle to do, what you will use it for, what your budget is, etc.

I just finished my first AR build with a Sabre upper, and I was popping soda bottles 80-100 yards out with iron sights, which is plenty accurate for me :p

It would take a special kind of messed up to make an ar that couldn't do that.

Edit. I just put together a rifle for a friend yesterday using a brand new Sabre lower. It seemed to me they machined out their lower with some loose specs. Specifically, the bolt catch roll pin hole, and the trigger guard roll pin hole were a bit oversized allowing the pins to slide in really easily. I'm used to a tight fit and this bothered me a little bit. I've built 3 other Sabre lowers in the past without these issues. I'm sure it's not a problem, and the positive in it is, the lower assembly is a lot cleaner and quicker with less hammering! Less chances of marring your receiver.

That's the difference between a complete rifle and stripped lower.

You get the engraved logo with a complete rifle, the digital dot name only with the stripped lower.
