Is this gun avaialble in CA? I read is was not on the CA approved list? Is there any way fo getting one? I understand if someone has one on CA it can be bought and sold within CA?

Not 100% sure, but I could have sworn to have seen one sold on the forums here..

Take that for what its worth, perhaps someone can chime in with a better answer.

The stainless steel does not appear to be on the list. There are lots of ways for non roster guns to get into California, and once here they can be sold via PTP transactions (at an FFL).

so its just a matter of finding someone that has one they want to sell?

Yes, and meeting at a FFL, paying the owner, paying the FFL $35 for paperwork and the state backround check, and waiting ten days before you go back and get the gun.

thanks for the reply..
on another subject, I'm selling a S&W model 63 , I know its over 30 years old I've had it that long. I thought I read somewhere you don't have to use an FFL is its over a certain age handgun?

Long guns that are on the federal curio and relic list AND are 50 years old or more can be sold without going through a FFL. Newer long guns, and ALL handguns, have to go through a FFL............in California.

good to know..also just found out I have to take and pass a Safety Test. Never can be too safe..glad I read up on some of the rules. I'm sure I wouldn't get too far at a dealer though.
