I just purchased my first upper and I finally have a complete rifle.
It is a STAG H3 with the railed gas block and flat top upper. I got Magpul backup irons for the gun. I mounted the sights and set out to zero the gun today and blew 70 rounds before realizing the sights are designed to be used on a level rail. :90:

So I need a riser for my gas block that will be even with my back rails.

ANy idea where I can get the spacer or other ideas?

Some people have claimed that your gas block can heat up enough to melt the MBUS. It was designed for a level rail for a reason. I'd try TROYs gas block rail mounted sight.

YHM makes a riser that you can use.

Not sure if this will keep the sight from melting. If you don't shoot a bazillion rounds at a time you will probably be fine.

Magpul instructions warn against putting their sights on the gas block.

This thread + other friends = I'm a dumbass that should read directions better.

Thansk guys, at least it didn't melt. It was all slow fire. Something else for the parts bin until I put a rail system on.
