I was thinking about getting the Urban dark earth also how do you like the color? I wanted it just because it is different. And your rifle looks great.

UDE is actually really nice. It is more of a concrete grey mixed in with some tan. If they made a UDE kit with a MIAD grip and an ACS stock I would buy another set in a heartbeat.

That kinda ruined the UDE color scheme, don't you think so? :o Also, the gunmetal-colored tac light is different too.

Do you shoot left handed? It seems a bit like that light would get in the way of your thumb with that AFG - or at least with the 'thumb brake' style the Magpul guys like.

I love UDE.

I remember hearing about a few Pmags in UDE floating around.

I never found out if they were the real deal, or if they were just painted UDE.

I know that Duracoat does not make that color the closest they come would be "Mortar" could probably use this color and tint it to get it close the "UDE" color.

nice rifle, that an/peq is just baller status! I've got the UDE panels only on my rifle, the color doesn't look so bright in person.

:smilielol5: The pic doesn't do the color any justice. I'll try some photoshop magic tomorrow. It's closer to a medium Khaki color.

I know what UDE is... I bought that kit when it first came out - was a smoking deal. I'm referring to the rest of your rifle. ;)

I was laughing at your quote about all you can see is GR$$N. Your right! I've spent way too much money on that setup. Most people don't know what they are looking at.

Bit of a necro-post. Definitely a badass stick, with a LOT of pennies in to it. Are you a lefty? Reason I ask is I am having a hard time seeing how you get a good positive grip on the rifle with the light in that position. I have tried many different white light and PEQ15 combination and positions trying to find the best way to mount them while still retaining a comfortable non-inhibited grip on the rifle, and ambidextrous activation of at least the white light. If I were you I would knock the PEQ backwards as far as possible (helps with weight distribution and with your 416 globe front BUIS you shouldn't have a problem with IR splash-back), then switch the White light to the 3 O'clock position. From here your grip should be greatly improved with the PEQ and light out of the way. Next step is activation and you could go several roots. I am just going to give what I ended up with over time and at a later time you might see a write up with some pictures of all the setups I have been through. I run a SF pressure pad for my white light at the 12 O'clock on the rail just in front of the PEQ. This way I can ambidextrously access activating my white light. For the IR I run the same insight pressure pad you have in nearly the same position, just mine is all the way at the front of the rail. This way my thumb is naturally right there and activation is second nature. IR NDs aren't too big of a deal especially compared to white light NDs and keeping the white light pressure pad at the 12 keeps it out of the way and pretty protected (being in between the PEQ and BUIS) There are a few downsides to this setup; first off you can't activate the PEQ shooting Lefty. For me that is not an issue at all, most times when using NVGs/IR lefty shooting rarely comes up. Another thing is at first I tried as hard as I could to not run pressure switches as I just don't like them. There snag factor is high, and they don't exactly have a long life. All in all for me that is the best setup I have been through and believe me I have tried my fare share. Please don't take this the wrong way, just trying help a brotha out. That being said, you could shoot an entirely different way than I, and that is completely fine. It all comes down to what works for you. That's why Baskin Robbins makes 31 flavors. Good luck and once again, BADASS blaster!

Thanks for the kind words! I don't shoot lefty, I placed the white light on the right because I can access the on/off button and I prefer push button switches uposed to pressure pads. If it can fail, it will at the most inopportune time! I like your suggestion about the SF pressure/button switch, I'm goint to try that next. The only problem with the PEQ15 is that the front sight post barely clears the PEQ15. I'll post pics when I'm finally done with the setup.

Good move. The reason I kind of thought you might shoot lefty from the pictures is that white light being on the left side being a bit in the way of your hand, so it's good you moved it. I'm with you brother I don't like pressure switches at all either. I am running them because so far this is the best way I have found. There are a few other options that cut down on them but also had some major drawbacks. When I do my write up and snap some pictures I'll be sure to send you a PM with the link so you can see what I mean. Goodluck with your rig, and I look forward to seeing more pictures of that sexy stick.
