this is a great article about the full possibilities of the .308

Saturday is going to be range day. I'll give a report after that. Right now it's getting the scope bore sighted.
That article was pretty interesting, .308 may not be a fancy round but it seems to be a well rounded cartridge.
I'll be, for now, shooting at no more than ~250 yards (the length of the range I go to).
I was going to get it in .223 so the AR and it could share ammo but, I figured that .223 would fly to go hunting if I ever got the opportunity.
It only cost me $549. Being the the Varmint variant the stock is kinda cheap feeling but down the road I probably end up with a aftermarket stock anyhow. thanks for the props and look for Saturday's report.:D

Are you close to Palmdale/Mojave in the high desert?

Once you get everything squared away come on out to a shoot. You can really stretch its legs out here. Nice rifle BTW.

I'm pretty close.. it's about an hour north of me but for the opportunity to take shoots like that it would be a day trip anyway. I've got a lot to learn to hit at those distances.;)

I have that same exact rifle and love it. Will shoot 1 moa out of the box, but you can improve on that by getting rid of the crappy Remington stock. I use a Hogue overmolded stock w/ full bedding block, and I get 1 hole groups at 100 yds with my handloads. Have fun out there. :)
