Is it legal to own and have the drum mag if I removed my pistolrip? I have a Romanian WASR10 imported by Century Arms.

Many Thanx,
Troy

Legal to have if you got it before 2000. Not legal to use on mag locked AK.

Assuming it was purchased before 2000:
Legal to replace any number of parts on the pre-2000 drum with new parts- YES.
Legal to own or "possess"- YES.
Legal to use in a "featureless" build- YES.

12020. (a) (2) Commencing January 1, 2000, manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, or lends, any large-capacity magazine.

Penal code doesn't list possession as a crime.

Cool deal, I presume you would need documentation to prove to LEO or DOJ it was purchased before 2000? Is the same true with hi cap mags?

burden of proof is on the state to prove you didint have it prior to 2000, but if by some weird chance you have proof, wont hurt to carry a copy with you, alot of LEO's are clueless about the actual law.

Thanks for the info, I purchased all my mags prior to Y2K. Early 90's to be exact, Gun shows didn't give receipts

All a drum mag is a +10 round mag. So, yes, the same is true for all +10 round ammunition feeding devises.
