Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, but have heard good things over on sigforum, so I'd thought I would post this question over here. I have a bunch of legally-owned grandfathered AR magazines, and some are beat up or generally unreliable. I recall reading something about being able to legally buy replacement bodies for these magazines, and was wondering if anyone would know what the law here in California is regarding this. Would I sent the old mag bodies in? Who would I contact regarding replacement of these magazines? Any information would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. --Ian

you dont have to do anything but buy the parts.

As i understood it you could even drive to nevada and buy a whole magazine, strip it apart and say its for repairing old mags you legally own you'd be ok across the boarder. You could even replace every single part of your old magazine legally.

You can replace them. Magazine bodies are readily available at the right vendors for replacement of your legal magazines. There's nothing to it. Also they are not "hi cap" magazines. They are full capacity magazines the way they were intended. "hi cap" is anti-gun speak. That's what the gun banners use to change the perception of our firearms and related gear.
