This question is in regard to Section 2 of Proposition H.

"Section 2. Ban on Sale, Manufacture, Transfer or Distribution of Firearms in the City and County of San Francisco

Within the limits of the City and County of San Francisco, the sale, distribution, transfer and manufacture of all firearms and ammunition shall be prohibited."

Does this mean that I, as a resident of San Francisco, cannot purchase rifles, shotguns, and ammo in SF county, BUT I may still buy them outside of SF county? I'm trying to get clarification on this...

Yes you can buy outside of the city, but can't bring it back into the city.

Not sure if that is correct. An SF resident can purchase a shot gun in San Mateo and bring it back to the City. Only handguns would be prohibited.

Heuer is right, you can bring any long guns back into the city. That section Taz77 is asking about is basically to end any sort of gun commerce (handgun or long gun) within the City and County, not about ownership of long guns.

What that section does is severely hamper business for High Bridge, the only firearms store in the City. It doesn't say the owner can't move the business, though, which is also what San Francisco politicians want.

High Bridge won't go out of business. At the gun show last year they said they can stay in business selling to the cops and city.

2200 square feet at 850,000 dollars. How many police officers can afford to live in San Francisco?

I don't think they sold the SFPD there SIG 226's in 40 either.

Where are they relocating to? They may stay in business by selling to the SFPD and the Sheriff's Office, but not by remaining in San Francisco. Which is what I think the city wants, just like they prohibited SF Gun Exchange from relocating to a cheaper area of the city, until they had to close down.

As I understand it the exemption for Police only covers possesion, but the transfer of ANY ammo or firearms is forbidden, even to the Police. I can't wait for the first time ammo is handed out at the SFPD range and someone gets arrested.
