Hey Cal-gunners,

I have a single six with both cylinders. I have been shooting inexpensive stuff but I was wondering what everyone else is shooting.

When I had mine, I just feed whatever value pact I can find. Good little revolver. I sold mine after I got a Heritage Rough Rider with convertible 22mag cylinder.

I bought my Single Six specifically to shoot these...

Started off with 15 bricks of the stuff 7 years ago. Down to 14 and a half bricks now. Slow going, 6 rounds at a time. :o

My Single-Six likes Remington ammo in the LR cylinder. I havent really tested what it likes best with the magnum cylinder.

Anything in the 22lr cylinder. I've only shot one box of CCI Maxi Mags with the 22 Mag cylinder. First time I ever shot 22 mag, fun little round!

If your just shooting for fun whatever Walmart has in bulk 22LR works just fine. As for 22mag I use CCL Maxi-Mag Walmart has that also at a fair price. I have 3 Single Sixes and they all shoot anything I give them, their fun little shooters and one always goes to the range when I go :D Redhemi

My Single Six didn't come with 22mag cylinder. So once I got the Rough Rider, I don't feel the need for SS (trigger and hammer difference were minor to me), so I sold it. After Rough Rider, I found a Hawes Deputy Marshal for dirt cheap. And after trying out the 22mag, I didn't find it as interesting as I though it would be. Beside the Hawes' trigger is superior to both SS and RR, so I get rid of RR too. They were all great, I just didn't keep 22 SA revolver around as long as I have a replacement I guess.

I sold my SS a long time ago. I put the cheapest 22LR I could find through it. I only used CCI 22 mag a few times. It was always fun to see the reaction at the range when I would switch from LR to mag rounds. Went from a little pop to a bang.
