Here is some more info. It is a Career (ShinSung) Fire 201. It is an early model with lacquer finish stock (very shiny) and gold and gray receiver. This is discontinued and from what I understand was only done extra fancy like this for the first year of production. Later guns were dull oil finished stock and one color receivers. The scope is a 6x40 ‘Leapers’. I am asking $600

Thanks for posting this info.. My model 19-5 has the same color trigger and hammer but I thought it was discolored or something was wrong with it.:)

BTW, what excatly is the color case hardening process and why is it done? Anyone? Anyone?

Color case hardening was developed during the mid 19th century (mabey earlier?) as a way to make the metal harder. It actually makes the surface harder while the inner steel retains its ductile nature and avoid brittleness and breakage. The biggest benifit is increased part life where it moves against other metal parts. It is done by heating the metal part and quenching in a specially prepared oil bath (and some wood chips are used if memory serves). One drawback is that it is more prone to corrosion and pitting. I like the colors on a well done case hardened piece. Look on Uberti's website for some really pretty replicas of Winchester model '73 lever action rifles with case hardened receivers!

Bump

Uses a 9mm slug just like a pistol but without the case. You place the slug in the camber by sliding a gold colored sleeve forward then back to close. Then cock with the lever on the side of the receiver. Depending on the weight of the slug of course, the FPS varies. Reported FPS is ~700-900 with a reduction in speed with each shot until you refill. Here are more pics and I'll take more tomorrow that will hopefully be clearer...

I'm familiar with the term case hardening but I've never heard the word "color" used with it.

Edit your original post marking it sold. It's also helpful to add SOLD to the title, too

Nope, just mark it sold in the title. A lot of people like to search the threads to see what they missed and gauge the market value of guns they're interested in.

Awesome rifle and price. More accurate than many rimfires or centerfires. Take a coyote out at close range. And air is still free. Good luck with your sale, from one Korean airgun owner to another.

OK, I just realized that my threads have been collapsed into one! I'm not new to forums but this is the first time I have seen this. So to recap:

The Sig P226 is sold
The S&W M13 is sold
Sale pending on the Makarov
Sale pending on the Career 9mm

Unless there have been new regs passed regarding air rifles, I can ship it directly to the purchaser (that is how I received it 10 years ago). I will be checking with ATF to be absolutely sure. I will be listing a couple of other firearms I am selling later today so please check back. I'm buying a truck hence the sales. Please let anyone you may know that wants to buy anything I'm selling as I need to get my 'truck money' together within three weeks. Thanks for all the posts!
